Weird PC Sleep Mode Problems + More

My computer is having some issues where when it goes to sleep after a predetermined time (say 30 minutes or so) and then it randomly wakes itself up whenever it feels like it. This is both startling and annoying, considering that my wheel is always connected, and always does the usual start-up calibration. After a few times, the computer will stay asleep (usually after about 10-12 hours), but it won't wake back up when I press the power button or press a key on the keyboard. I have to reset the power supply in order to wake it up, and when I do, it wakes up extremely slowly. It resumes where I left off, but the entire computer is very sluggish and it's quicker to just do a hard restart (and lose my work). The computer's literally useless.

I also get random BSOD errors with rare STOP errors such as 1e and 7e. I recently uninstalled a XFX Radeon HD 7850 and its drivers and installed a EVGA GTX 770 SC. Before this upgrade, I kept getting card failure BSODs. I also recently added 8GB of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600. These are my venerable RAM sticks that I lent to a family member for a year and they're snappy and reliable.

I've taken it back to TigerDirect (where it was custom built) for warranty repairs three times. The first time they replaced the hard drive and my 7850. The second time, they found no issues. The third time, they said I was getting "activation errors" (I removed the activation from an otherwise legit copy of Windows). I've done the same with my laptop and I haven't had any issues over a longer period of time.

They told me to upgrade my ram (at the time I had 8GB)...done. Then they told me to do a OS reinstall....uhh no. If I have to reinstall the damn OS _AGAIN_ (not the first time), then I'd rather buy a Mac and sell this heating appliance.

So, I'm tired of taking the computer back. It's covered under a SquareTrade warranty which basically gives you the cost of the computer back if you need to replace anything in it.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Try reflashing the BIOS to see if it changes anything, another thing to try is to disable "wake on LAN".

My PC booted up by itself at 3 AM because of some update settings within Windows, so disable those if it's still happening. After disabling those settings, I have no issues.
As for the slow boot, it could be the HDD the system is on. I have a cheap SSD which boots the PC in less than 30 seconds.

If you don't want to reinstall, try recovery.

I'm not very familiar with sleep mode since I don't believe in it lol. Howver, googling the issue brought up this: http://jack.ukleja.com/fix-for-windows-7...p-problem/

You can actually check what particular event caused the wakeup. That should get you closer to the issue.

Is it possible that an antivirus program may have woken the computer from its sleep?

Isn't the whole point in sleeping to NOT execute any programs?

Ok dumb response from me :-/ I don't personally use sleep, would rather just shutdown and startup.

The sleep problem is most likely "Wake on LAN".

To disable:

Start > Type: "Device Manager" > Network Adapters > Right-click your network adapter > Power Management Tab > Untick: "Allow this device to wake the computer" or Tick: "Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer" (If you access your PC from across the network do not do this and finish at this step. If you access your computer across a network, continue to next step) > Click the advanced tab > In the property pane, click "Wake on Magic Packet" > Set the value to disabled
