RE: Let's start :)
Oh my. First of all we need to know a budget on this. If you could give that we could start making some lists. Also we need to know what PCU(power supply) is as you might need to upgrade it to fit the new components

RE: Let's start :)
Oh wow. Umh, i think i'm gonna pass on this one. The budget is a bit small in my opinion if you want to upgrade your current computer to run GTA4 with playable fps. If you want that you would need a new CPU, and a new graphics card at least. And then you might need to upgrade your motherboard so it would all 'fit' together. And possible new PCU as well to give the new components enough power.. But maybe someone else want to try, who knows. Good luck anyway

I would say around 300-400 euros can get you the minimum requirements for the games you listed.

If you can find used mobo, cpu and gpu you can get parts well enough to run your games.. not on highest ofc PCU might be enough or might not, who knows

Best way how well spend money on updating on your current build is collect more money for new build. Unfortunately your current CPU and motherboard is old for sensible update.
How wrote Petsu. Try search "used CPU" for your socket 775. It would be good to know what motherboard you have now for choice what processor will fit best. U can check it with this CPU-ID Anyway you can try overclock your CPU if your motherboard allows. I thought little bit how made cheap build but iam lost in this "old" components. Anyway i tried look around for something about 210€. For start can be this good way:

RE: Let's start :)
Nice you have luck in this motherboard. You are allowed to overlocking FSB and what is best new, motherboard is ready for 45nm CPUs and quad core CPU. Anyway I not understand how can your PC run with DDR3 RAM if it support only DDR2.
First offer from google Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 (2014-12-26 12:03)GT4tube Wrote: why 1866mhz? I mean for future CPU change. anyway now it is pointless to buy this. It is true. |

Save your money for now and purchase something when you can afford some newer hardware. Rather go with a new low-budget AMD build than upgrading your current parts.
Here is a 'cheap' upgrade imo: AMD AM3+ FX-8320, 8-core, 125W Crucial DDR3 BallistiX 1600Mhz 8GB KIT (2x4GB) ASUS AM3+ M5A97 R2.0 Sapphire Radeon R9 280 XFX ProSeries Core Edition 550W PSU 4.127DKK / 554eur |

RE: Let's start :)
Yes AMD is super cheap power, i would prefer AMD if you are low on budget but want power Only thing that for higher end AMDs you really want to get new cooler, they are way too hot with originals.. If i remember right starting from fx-6300 and better its preferred to get new cooler. With 30 euros you can get Thermalright True Spirit 120 which should be enough i guess..
