Would indeed want a ride. I see that you wouldn't want one Toni, too bad for you then, I still think it's pretty *Removed* cool. Typical european way of thought to never appreciate anything that anyone else gets that you cant have. Idiots.

RE: Show us your ride!
I wouldn't pay the amount that car costs, as with same money i would get something which satisfies my taste more, but would totally want it or at least have a drive (or even sit on passengers seat..)

RE: Show us your ride!
The issue is maintenence cost. We lived in Bowling Green, KY where they are assembled. Everyone on our neighborhood worked at the plant and my dad and I have always considered Corvettes to be mid life crisis cars. However when he changed jobs he lost his company car (a 2014 Explorer) so he had to get something. We looked at VWs Audis and Fords. I almost had him sold on a Roush Stage III Mustang. But when looking at the cost to own one for 10 years (how long he usually keeps a car) anything European for $55,000 to $60,000 was at least twice the cost. We loved the S4 and S5 we test drove but heaven forbid you break something haha. One last thing we talked about how this is the most expensive item he has ever purchased. He has been working since he was 16 and is 51 now. He said this car cost him as much as the first house he bought in 1988. It was so cool to think about how hard and long he has worked to even get a car like this. Makes me proud to say it's ours. Now I have to get one before I'm 50 to beat him haha. And I digress more my family has been here for 4 generations and has come from literally absolutely nothing. Just an awesome story.
I'm really excited to drive it we talk everyday for almost an hour about things with the car. I've never heard my dad so excited about a car. And he's had nearly 200. We are going to some corvette driving school and track day too. I just hope he's not too mad when I set a faster lap time again(I did in the mini haha) RJ what market are you in that has a 2013 Ranger?!?! I love Rangers! We stopped getting them in 2011 Here's how the roof nicely fits ![]() |

I do agree that the car is cool, but i just dont get the hype around the car itself? its not that special, nor doesnt look like anything special, its just a car, like anything else that has 4 wheels... Feel free to hate me from now on, i dont care... Ps, Saying that im not.apperciating sonething and it makes me an idiot doesnt get you anywhere ![]() |

RE: Show us your ride!
I agree with Toni here, it's a pretty decent looking car but not something I would want to have. Sure, give me one right now
![]() But I must say that american sports cars are getting a lot better lately. And sure, I would like a ride in one, but like Toni said I don't feel anything emotional or special about it either. |

Sure, give me one right now Not to say I wouldn't buy an older car myself (with $60k I could get my '68 440 Charger) but when you run a plant your vehicle needs to be reliable and sadly most older cars aren't (he daily drove a '63 Beetle we restored for almost 10 years, but still I hope you get my point haha) You have to drive it to understand what makes it fun. It doesn't feel "American" it doesn't drive like an "American" car. It's like the Mk1 VW GTI you either love it or you hate it. But either way it's a big game changer. The last 6 generations of vettes don't even hold a candlestick compared to the firework that is the C7. I've driven a C4 ZR1, a C5 coupe, a C5 Z06, a C6 convertible, a C6 Z06, sat in the C6 ZR1 test mule cars, and rode in a C7 around the block. It really is an excellent car for whatever classification you want to call it, not a grand tourer, not a muscle car, not a sports car, not a race car, just an all around well built car. Just my 0.02 don't hate on it before you give it a chance! It's a hell of a lot better then his second choice ![]() (He has a professional engineering degree and is an Electrical Engineer so of course he wants an electric car, he thinks they are the coolest thing ever lol) |
