RE: Rule against Scam
Meh Nismo has a point, technically both sides are at fault although I would still call out on the seller for having such a mindset

RE: Rule against Scam
Guys, he only did it once, fgs. The buyer could've asked for more details, but no, he just sends the money. I'm assuming that he never even had a talk with Atbiz. And yes, I'm aware of the fact that the buyer couldn't speak english ver well. He still could've asked for help to translate the conversation and the details of the car. I know that Atbiz did do wrong, but this was easily avoidable with a quick chat with the seller.

RE: Rule against Scam
So if it's once we must let it slide through? And the other player kisses his 17k good bye?

You (the community as a whole) will just have to make sure you are extra careful when buying a car. Make sure you have: 1) The VIN 2) Consequently the condition 3) The actual value Then come to a full agreement on a price instead of going in blindly and buying a car for the outright price the seller gives it. If you make sure all of this happens, everything will go swimmingly. Now can we try to put all of this behind us and try and make sure this does not happen again? |

RE: Rule against Scam
Did anyone hear about the time he sold a XFR worth 3,000€ for 14,000€? He laughed about it in the team channel for hours/days about it. (You can check the chatlogs)
Something needs to be in place to protect those who don't know any better. What if someone joins the server for the first time and needs to buy a car. Someone else comes by and offers them a killer deal, a 10,000€ XRT worth 10€. That car will only last about 50km, maybe 60. What happens after 50km? Car goes boom. Player has no money to buy another car. Player can't rent because he only has 50km and no money. Player starts begging for money/cars, which nobody likes. If nobody else in the community spends their hard earned money on this scammed player then this player is effectively banned from TC because they're unable to play. That'll leave a negative impression on new players and make [TC] look like a toxic place for new people. If scamming gets out of hand then it's the [TC] CityDriving brand that will become damaged. This isn't good. I think this is a great opportunity to take a look into minimizing scamming on the servers and consider some consumer protection rules like those that exist in real life. RE: Rule against Scam
I strongly agree with Kenwood here, TC should put an end to scamming.

RE: Rule against Scam
I think that we all agree that scamming other players is pretty cheap.
On the other hand, new players get little to no instructions when coming the first time on how to buy a car. I remember when i joined back in 2012 i bought an XRG full price because i wasn't aware that the market even existed. I heard about VIN's when i first decided to trade a car. I didn't know cars had different values and all. Wouldn't it be easy to put a simple popup when a player joins for the first to tell him this kind of stuff. Like a "Welcome to TC, here are stuff you need to know BEFORE playing"? |

RE: Rule against Scam
Sebas' idea is pretty good almost everytime a new player joins, he asks "how to buy a car" or tries to leave pits with uf1, doesnt work and leaves the server D: And sorry ken, atbiz told me something else but i think you are right

RE: Rule against Scam
I belive we already have this type of thing going off behind the scenes. Actually it may already be in use however, I am not 100% sure so I'll give no further details other than the fact, we have considered this suggestion before

RE: Rule against Scam
How about a better idea luke, a car market station in the server where once you drive up, a menu appears to buy cars and the list goes like this:
Username: Dmo3_al7zn Nickname: Kookoo Car: Xfr Vin: Aaaa Condition: 49% Odo: 439km Trade Value : 14,000 Seller Price: 17,000 Purchase? Select Option: Yes / No *** Send confirmation message on screen, then you decide to approve purchase or not *** Then the seller will have to go to the car dealer to see if someone purchased it, if the seller approved it then the money will be automatically withdrawn from the buyer account and the vehicle will automatically be sent to the buyer. But of course, the insim has to automatically check for sufficient money, available garages, and also it will automatically be removed from the market if the car is dead or sold. I highly doubt this will be implemented, just thought of suggesting. Edit: It should also be horizontal instead of vertical so there could be much more cars on the list. |

RE: Rule against Scam
Well safe zones are technically your car markets, the process if very similar when buying a car from the home button. As for used cars I'm not to sure but the idea doesn't seem like it benefits anything that we already have.

RE: Rule against Scam
Most players sell their car individually because selling to the market does not give you any benefits.
