RE: Megaupload
And after everyone gets bored of making new file upload sites when they get taken down, more people will move to the TOR network.

RE: Megaupload
*Removed*.
The claims made about Megaupload are wrong. Megaupload was not targetting any audience, it's business model was simply to pay people to bring traffic to the site, and profit from selling download subscriptions to the traffic - The model was highly successful, hence it has been around for so long, and far more successful than any of the crap it's competitors try to offer - Fact of the matter is, Megaupload was shut down because other business's wanted to steal there success and things like SOPA and PIPA are empowering them to remove competition - There are many other upload sites that host just as much illegitimate content if not more. This is the US Government fighting with nearly all internet users from using the internet and shows forewarning signs of what's to come, Piracy I'm betting will soon have to find new backdoors and believe me those aren't running out any time soon This act was basically a publicity stunt if you're asking me trying to get us to back down. |

Revenge!
https://rt.com/usa/news/anonymous-doj-un...-sopa-235/ Oh, and fyi, SOPA and PIPA didn't cause this. The FBI was already investigating this for 2 years. |

RE: Megaupload
Good for them! But I doubt this will make the government change its mind much, just wait till Facebook and YouTube starts getting censored, then there'll be riots

YouTube is much stricter. |

RE: Megaupload
With SOPA they got the power to shut Facebook and YouTube down.
Doubt they'll do that though. |

RE: Megaupload
I would like to know how they want to justify the arrest, since i can't see anything that violated known laws. Kinda like you can't punish a weapon manufacturer for the amount of people that died due to their weapons.
Just feels like the copyright lobby is abusing their powers yet again. I don't think Kim/megaupload is innocent, but this arrest just stinks. |
