Isn't that something called common sense? Something MED /RES and TOWs should use when responding? Not really a valid reason for not allowing MEDs to speed to a call. I'm for allowing MED and RES vehicles to speed when responding to a call and not losing money, so long as they don't cause a danger to others while doing so. |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
MED/RES can speed without losing money up to ~30% over the speed limit.
The speed limits are generally calibrated so it's reasonably safe for a good driver to do up to 30% over, provided you have your wits about you. MED/RES must drive with care and attention at all times and for the most part going over the 30% leeway is careless. |

Explain to me the intricate differences between the MED/RES and the TOW jobs. Here is how they both go: Call for a TOW comes in You respond You arrive You perform the TOW You either escort to safezone or continue with your life ??? Don't try bring real life into it, because there is no "golden hour" on a car crash in LFS, you arriving in 2 minutes or 20 seconds makes no difference to your job, very much the opposite to real life. The system is fine as it is. To be completely honest I do not see the point in MED/RES/TOW being 3 things. |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
TOWS
Are not allowed to break road laws when responding to a SOS-call. They still could do, but risk being fined by cops. Are not allowed to use sirens (horn 4/5). Are not allowed to use strobes while driving. Only when on scene. Have !hazard Have !caution Don't have priority over traffic. Never. MEDs / RESs Are allowed allowed to break road laws when responding to a SOS-call. Cops can't fine them while responding. Must use strobes when responding to a SOS-call. May use audible siren (horn 4+5) when responding to a SOS-call. Have !hazard Have !caution Don't have priority over traffic. Never. Yeah, totally different aren't they. As I read it, MED/RES is just a COP TOW. But they both have NO RIGHT OVER TRAFFIC, so I can cut off a MED/RES with sirens and lights going, no penalty, so really again, what's the difference? I mean, you don't even need those tags to TOW another user anyway. |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
here are my 2 cents: I think MED/RES should not loose money for responding but(!) if u cause a crash when responding (and a cop sees u) u should be auto-fined at least 1k. also I think u would have to be a TOW for at least 6 months and get at least let's say 200rp before u can get a MED/RES licence so u have some experience with towing.

RE: Money income with MED/RES
no meds should be punished more. u as a med must be a more responsible, better driver the "normal" drivers/players. if u crash that means u r iresponsible. at least u should have your licence revoked if u cause 5 crashes. causing a crash means u r not capable of driving faster than the limit so u should not be allowed and privileged (by not loosing money) to speed.
what i'm trying to achieve is that only responsible drivers can be meds if they want so we dont get a bunch of <insert an offensive word> driving at huge speed and causing a mayhem |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
MED and RES have every right to speed as much as a COP.
This is a roleplay server. Saying that MEDs are pointless because nobody dies in LFS is as daft as saying that COPs are pointless because there's no jail in LFS. It's a roleplay element that a lot of people enjoy doing and a lot of people benefit from. More so, I'd say, than copping. You need someone to help get you unstuck more than you need someone to bust your ass every five minutes. MEDs should not be penalised for RPing and there are definitely, without dispute, places on the TC layouts where >30% speeding is possible, safely. Even I can manage it so I pity anyone who struggles to do so. Places such as HW1 at Montana and AB come to mind. You are driving as if someone's life is at risk so you don't just sit a little bit above the speed limit so you don't set speed cameras off - you are going as fast as you can safely manage. Someone said above that ambulances only go 20mph above the limit - that's not out of choice, you try getting a 3 tonne box van to go faster. Rapid Response cars (which is what MED and RES are) can and will drive as quickly as a police car. In short, the system in its current state unfairly fines MED/RES over COPs, despite all 3 being essentially RP emergency services. TOW is just a municipal towing service, which focuses on 'no danger' tows, whereas MED/RES respond to dangerous tows as quickly as possible in order to get the situation under control before more crashes occur, as well as the implied life saving element. Personally although it's wrong I'm not overly bothered by it, as I care more about doing my job well and when I'm not on a call I'm effectively km running anyway, but it doesn't mean that it's not wrong. I'm just fed up with the attitude some people show to those people who give up their time and driving freedom to help other players. |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
For my opinion,
I suppose that if we remove the "speedlimit" who can make lose a lot of money, it will increase highly the number of the accidents and trolling. I explain. A MED/RES need to speed just when he respond to a call. But most of the time this function will be used negatively for the traffic, and can even cause accidents, trolling, losign the control of the car and careless driving... Mostly when we speed for a maximum of 30% of the speedlimit we can't lose money. So, that's a 0 for me. If we check that all of the RES can drive at high speed and care to the other players without crashing himself or other player, I agree so +1. But if we didn't check for trollers etc... -1. (2015-03-06 15:31)Chuck Wrote: You can still go a decent amount of speed over the limit without losing anything. If you're getting -40, I have the impression you're going way to fast. MEDs are allowed to speed yes, but not race. That's just what some people said, and that's what I said. MED/RES don't need to go more of 30% of the speedlimit, even in AB. And on AB you can go mostly to 190-200, that's after that you lose your money fastly and fastly. |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
Perhaps they should have priority over traffic but only when responding to calls and when there's no cop in chase mode nearby. Perhaps have some sort of time limit of +0 speeding from the point they have decided to respond to the call (As some layouts such as the new Westhill are large and thus would take a while to reach even if you are only slightly speeding). However I feel that if you take into consideration the general sizes of most the layouts and the tips given for the service, you really aren't losing much at all and as pointed out MEDS/TOW can speed up to ~30% over the speed limit without losing money. Just don't drive like a lunatic and you'll reach those in need in a reasonable time (to make them want to tip) without losing money in general.
-1ish for me |

When responding to an SOS call, to not have money taken away while speeding
Hey!
I have noticed when responding to a call and when I go over the speed limit my money bonus goes into the negatives and I usually loose maybe 20-50 or so. It doesnt help either that people don't donate either. Can you please disable that insim feature by linking it to the !siren command or something? Thanks! |

RE: When responding to an SOS call, to not have money taken away while speeding
Rescue and Tows are encouranged to stick to road rules as much as possible (for obvious reasons) and unlike cops, who have visual sirens and priority over traffic, RES Tow do not.
You can still run lights when guaranteed safe, or take shortcuts etc. But I feel revoking the money loss thing completely will just make people who drive recklessly as responders, even more reckless. So a no from me. Hope my point makes sense, its hard to explain lol |

RE: Money income with MED/RES
Why if MED/RES are emergency vehicles cant speed without losing money i just don't understand it, they are asked for help and to be fast and often they are not paid but they lose money for helping us i think this is not fair.At least that they dont lose money for helping us.
