RE: Blue Light Aware
In Hungary You can break road laws with caution if there is an emergency vehicle behind you, or something... So stupid thing if You can't go trough red light in the U.K.... Some people die behind You in the ambulance, but no problem, the light is red...

RE: Blue Light Aware
I've been caught up at a red lights before when emergency vehicles are approaching. I must say, it's very frustrating not being able to do anything to get out the way. From my experience they just make their way around the lights by cautiously passing the lights the wrong side, so they aren't really delayed, but it looks a little risky.

Chances are if there's room in the bus lane, the emergency vehicle will already be in it. If you move into the bus lane, you're probably then blocking where they wanted to go which could very well get you in court. |

Everyone was pulling over to the pavement (if safe), you should have seen the happy faces of the crew in it |

RE: Blue Light Aware
Over here, your not supposed to stop when you hear or see siren's, your supposed to pull over and slow down, too many accidents were caused by people slamming the brakes and pulling over, kinda like on TC too lol

True, but some bus lanes in my area are in the centre lanes and buses are busy occupying them being next to city centre. Just a thought anyway. But I doubt they would do you for it lol. |

RE: Blue Light Aware
In the United States, you can't go through the red light, but in most other cases, it's get the *Removed* out of the way before the cop rams you out of the way.

RE: Blue Light Aware
and i asked why should we?
They could go on it.. (the emergency vehicle for the people like McG that doesn't understand that ) In holland we got rarelly buslanes.. not that much as in other country's... i dont even know if there are rules for it when a emergency vehicle shows up.. |

I know you were saying that the emergency vehicle should go into the bus lane... Nobody's said that normal cars should block it |

RE: Blue Light Aware
Not all road layouts/situations will mean that the emergency vehicle will be able to move straight into the bus lane.

RE: Blue Light Aware
In edinburgh, the emergency vehicle normally uses the bus lane anyway but that is a slight problem when i am cycling because they find it hard to pass me so i need to try and find a bus stop or a junction, which is hard on a duel carrageway

My impression of the NYFD was basically slowly make your sirens more high pitched the longer your held up, and beep with extremely loud horns at anything that gets in your path |

Haha, nice vid Tommer
Funny to see how the drivers slowly begin to realize someone wants to pass. We definitely need those bull horns here. |

I think the horns getting louder = the siren motor spinning more because it works off the engine and the bull horns before crossing over a intersection they always do it to warn pedestrians ;p Here's a video i like to watch Its UK Police in busy London. Notice at 2.20 how he waits and turns his sirens off. They don't always try and push past. I LOVEEEEEEEE the piercer siren when he starts to use it must absolutely death people around it. |
