Creeper death is still a thing I'm afraid Chuck. They won't harm your creations though.

It might also interest you that entities, including mobs are currently broken so they're in a frozen state and can't harm you.

Bez is already working on setting up shops at the spawn. It's a process that takes time. It'll come eventually. In the meantime, feel free to visit the W.i.p. underwater shop area, It's beautiful.

Tried going in with 1.18 and said TC server was still using 1.16.5

Tried using a normal 1.16.5 and it said i needed forge.
Tried using 1.16.5 forge and it gave me error codes.
