!chase+ [2,8,4,6]
The basic idea is simple: suspect that breaks road rules is not always in front of cop's car. To initiate a !chase on him, cop has to do excess and, which is more important, dangerous maneuvers fairly often.
So, I offer you to make a !chase+ command same a !roablock+ - allowing cop to start chase without need of facing the suspect. Fix my grammar please and thanks for reading. |

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
I think this is not really needed, if there is for example a drifter behind you, just pull over or drive slower at the side of the road and let him pass. If they do u-turn so do you, and then they are in front of you and you can chase them

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
I get what you mean: A cop sees a chase in his rear view/side mirrors and wants to initiate a chase to the suspect at either the left [4], right [6], in front [8], behind [2]. I get the logic however, I use Clavier+ to do direction binds using the NumPad and I'm sure many other cops do as well. Also there is the trouble of getting the insim to recognise the people at a 360 degree rotation around you and to actually display it in the HUD. Good idea but I don't think it would work.
-1 from me. |

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
The idea behind this is that we have a traffic on the server: the time you spend on maneuvers to get target in front of you may cause new drivers to appear in front of you. That'll make an unnecessary 'noise' to the COP Tracker leading to !chase-ing wrong target then !lost -> speeding to get to the correct target etc etc etc.

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
This is needed.
Often many suspects behind me try to escape, while i'm trying to u-turn to get my tracker on them they shift+p/s or disconnect. |

-1 to this, I dont think that its necesary, cause laser will not be that fast, and will cause more problems than benefits.

I dont ask about !laser at all. It should remain as-is, and as in real life. The only problem is to emplement 3 more variables to store usernames on the back, left and right side of the cop's car and !chase the chosen one. |

What I wanted to mean its the tool that shows you the suspect that you have infront, isnt that a laser? And will not be that faster cause it will have to calculate every degree and what if suspect its on rear and side? And I said, I think that its fine as how have been always. |

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
Can you imagine rl cops to your left or right telling you to pull over? I can't get over how risky that sounds. Cops usually pull behind the suspect to make them stop. I don't see why it needs to change.

RL is actually a bad example as it is done from all directions, at least in Germany. -Stopping the car in front is usually done with a special siren tone and mirrored text in the display on the roof saying something like "STOP POLICE" -Stopping the car behind is also done with the display on the roof with a text like "POLICE FOLLOW" (or in the rear window on low profile cars ) -Stopping cars on the side is done by showing a traffic paddle like this: |

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
We don't have those paddles here cops just pull behind their victims and turn the lights on. The display makes sense and could have a backward command, but the sides I'm still not convinced on the paddles/side commands.

I reckon in countries with gun laws like the USA, you always wanna be behind the one you're pulling over Not sure about Australia.

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
I'm here to tell about _initiating a chase_, not about _pulling over_ a target.
There's an insim problem here, as we have to programmatically !chase target. In real life, we just start chasing desired suspect without any commands and not only in front of us. |

If you do !chase, you're actually asking that person to stop. Which is like pulling over. First when the suspect fails to comply, it's a chase. It's not a technical problem to implement such things. Maybe apart from the fact that you cannot actually see, who you will be chasing, as the name doesn't appear anywhere. However, we should divide those people who don't need such a feature from people who don't want such a feature. For whatever reason. If there are reasons that speak against it, then I'd like to hear those, rather than just a -1. |

RE: !chase+ [2,8,4,6]
Chuck, in case of insim, you have to !chase the target first, then ask him to pull over.
Currently, I see a slight problem with initiating a chase when the suspect is behind or left/right to the cop AND there's is a 'noise' like other drivers around. Insim laser will bounce from one target to another while cop is trying to get behind the disired suspect. Sometimes even glitch and not calibrating on target in front. All players who cop pretty often, will understand my point of view here, I hope. So, "!chase+ 2 " could reduce that problem to a minimum, in my opinion. It ususally takes way to much body movements to actually start a !chase, when there're many players around. I saw many difficulties and accedents when cops trying to U-turn and catch up the suspect. Not because they are bad drivers but because of insim limitations and imperfection. Moreover, I've faced with suspects that abuse this insim limitation and backpedalling on autobahn when cop is in front of them - preventing cop from !chase-ing him. |
