Coop will be getting a new sibling and cousin shortly will update once the vehicles are home. im sorry but dont talk utter pish, clearly whoever youve been racing has been some posing boy whom has never seen a track, also you having 50 cars or whatever doesnt have any meaning on this arguement, take the honda civic ek9 for example standard for standard 1.6 N/A vs the cooper s 1.6 turbo it would keep up,LSD from standard, seam welding,185 bhp vs 184 bhp so the cooper would take it top end.. no suprise due to forced induction. however comparing 0-60 times which we all love for some unknown reason 6.6 vs 7.0.. which is frankly shocking for a 1.6 turbo however we shall sum this up to the weight difference ek9 1090kg mini cooper s 1,145 kg only the cooper s works has a LSD and thats eletronic,i find it hard to belevie you seem to judge a cooper is superiour to JDM "tat" however perhaps for your run to the shops itll be more comfy but on a track with the same driver it will most likely be ripped a new ring by a 13 year old hatchback, not to mention the dc2 which is very roughly the same displacement as your 1.6 forced induction if you work it out using 0.4 extra due to forced induction which they use in motorsport classes to keep them even. but yea all jdm is crap,i in no way am slating the mini cooper i just completly disagree with his views .. furthermore as has been said the dc2 was voted by car enthusiasts the best front wheel drive car in the world, but your entitled to your all it be wrong opinion |

RE: Show us your ride
Question about your TT. My buddy had a 3.2(?) Quattro and he said he hated it and it didn't go for $&@% lol what are your opinions on it?
And whoever is trying to say a civic is superior to a cooper didn't even compare the right model. R56s suck and I clearly state that, they are heavier, slower and less stiff. They were made for the modern lame consumer who doesn't understand fun. Yes they are still enjoyable and kick that Abarths 500's butt there is still plenty of room for improvement. Saying I've worked on and experienced over 50 cars at my household alone shows that the lack of knowledge among the gamer generation is pathetic. There are exceptions but as a general stereotype it's true. Did you even know the MINI Coopers throttle system is all electronic? That causes a lag in throttle response. When you give it the gas it senses it, but it won't go full go for about a half a second. That is just a flaw of all this technology we use in modern cars The newer MINIs are also turbo'd an have some of the worst turbo lag ever. The R53s have a supercharger that kicks in at 2300 and will take you up past red line still developing. That's not even a Cooper Works edition. Add the additional 3 lbs of supercharger boost, 50 horsepower and 25 ft/lbs of torque and the fight isn't even fair on a straightaway. Also note cooper s's with the sport and premium package come stock with the heaviest rims available MINI offers lighter rims for this reason one of these sets will remove 25lbs. I cannot wait for the June 2 track day to eat up more of these "god-like" Hondas haha > Also note the 2002 Cooper S fitted with the lighter wheels only weighs 1120kg. And if you really want to compare your "top of the line Honda" the Cooper GP only weighs 940kg and has a stock 0-60 of 5.9 seconds with a mere 218hp. |

RE: Show us your ride
How can you get that little amount of power from a twin-turbo supercharged engine? Unless they're in boxes in the boot....

I'm joking, a Ford Sierra from -89 doesn't even have one turbo lmao.. i could only dream to have all 100hp left But would be nice to get some cossie pistons, rods and big fat turbo Got original ford RS front, side skirt and rear bumper on.. looking for Escort RS 16" wheels or some cossie wheels to get the exterior right |

Ah, that's not bad then. Only a hundred more than mine, haha
Somehow the side skirt looks kinda out of place, but maybe it's just the camera angle and the wheels that make it look like that. Not bad. |

Hope i'll find some reasonable priced rims with lower ET and it'll look better.. And the side skirt is designed like that and not miss placed, the photo doesn't really give the side skirt a fair chance to look "ok" ;P |

Well bone stock 3.2q isn't that fast, around 6.5s 0-100kph and 250kph tops. Stock 225hp 1.8tq is similar only limiter is in 240kph. Mine has mods with over 7k€, it will leave chipped S4 2.7Bit, RX8, Civic type-R, S2000 etc. to dust. Mines 0-100kph is around 5.5s and topspeed is around 270-280kph. It has limiter still at 240 and it pulls all the way nicely. Many people dont know how fast properly tuned 225 TT really is untill they find out the hard way Atm im looking for replacement to TT cause i need bigger car.. Want to have quess what im looking? small hint its around same age, has 6 cyl and its estate. Make is Audi and has torsen type of 4wd. |

RE: Show us your ride
Fiestas not had a good day, backed into the gate at work and got a pretty bad scrape, not to bothered about that. but the engine management light also came on, and speedo died and miles went blank. took it to the garage and the short verdict (still needs to be properly inspected) is that it needs a new ECU. had about 5 faults including MAF sensor and Speed Sensor, some bits about a faulty tacho and reciving wrong values.
Could be RIP fiesta by the looks of it. just hope it survives its journey to northampton wednesday. |
