banned for scratching a car
yesterday i got a 1day ban for "trying to disable a speedtrap"... what means i hitted a parked cop car ONE TIME and quite slightly.
i don't argue about the point, that this is breaking a rule, but i really don't get the point why i get 1 day for that while rammers only get a kick... even people who park in other peoples pit garages and ruin their boni of 200km and more only get a kick. now i get 1 day for scratching that speedtrap? the first admin who was responsible for my ban refused to tell me anything... just always the same "your ban was justified bla bla bla". no answer on the question i just posted here... 2nd admin who seemed to be the one who even extended my ban (from 12 to 24 hours) then told me about an ominous "recorded warning" for my account that says: "On a last chance basis with breaking rules. Anymore to be broken please issue a ban." well even if there really is such a record, this ban seems a bit ridicoulous to me, but would be a reason for admins to extend it. however this is NOT the reason i'm quite angry for now. if admins can EXPLAIN the reasons to me why i have been banned for what and why how long it's all fine. i also know that my behavior wasn't the best idea of that day. all this is not the point i'm arguing about. i just repeat this because some admins don't seem to read properly... when i ask the same question 5 times and still don't get an answer, this is quite poor. back to topic... no admin could/wanted to tell me where this ominous record comes from and how old it is. the point is that i don't know about any recorded warnings except my first day on the server when i didn't read the rules yet. my warning level shown here also says 0%... you can't be serious and take some mistakes on the first day as reason for this. the behavior of the 2 admins who seem to responsible is very poor so far too... as i stated before in this post. to me this looks like "oh towcat finally made a mistake, we don't like him so we ban him" i'd like to get some proof of this records |

RE: banned for scratching a car
As you seem displeased with the standard of the two admins I will look in to this myself.
I would just like to clarify some points about your record; The forum warning level has nothing to do this, that is simply any warnings you receive on this forum. Your URS is a record of all admin actions that have been taken on you. This includes User Reports, Warnings, Kicks, Bans and a few other notes. This is confidential to a certain extent. I will post later on with other information regarding your ban. Josh. |

RE: banned for scratching a car
I'm pretty tired so I haven't read all of your post in detail, but those are two misleading facts I've found. Anyway, I'll happily leave this to Josh now - thanks.
EDIT. Now I've completely read your post in detail (I think), and this is where you're trying to mislead: (2012-11-05 16:29)Surri Wrote: the first admin who was responsible for my ban refused to tell me anything... just always the same "your ban was justified bla bla bla". That's actually wrong. I've checked the PMs you sent to me multiple times all together and you never actually asked. The only question you asked me was something along the lines of 'what ever happened to the bp I used to know". (2012-11-05 16:29)Surri Wrote: i just repeat this because some admins don't seem to read properly... What question was that? (2012-11-05 16:29)Surri Wrote: no admin could/wanted to tell me where this ominous record comes from and how old it is. Didn't ask me. (2012-11-05 16:29)Surri Wrote: to me this looks like "oh towcat finally made a mistake, we don't like him so we ban him" Not going to even dignify that with a proper response. "hah he did another mistake, let's underline this - did i do anything wrong? no i won't ask that to myself, because i'm perfect" there is a golden rule where i come from... "if you don't know, don't speak" |

RE: banned for scratching a car
Ok, I'll start by responding to a couple of the concerns you have raised in your post whilst I wait for some more info on this.
Surri Wrote:yesterday i got a 1day ban for "trying to disable a speedtrap"... what means i hitted a parked cop car ONE TIME and quite slightly. People get different actions taken (a warning, kick or ban, etc) depending a number of factors; - How serious the event is - depending on what has happened and how much it has affected people, then action taken or severity of any action may be different. - If the user has any relevant history - Are there any previous actions on the users URS record (which I will explain in more detail below), perhaps for the same reason. I.e. have any previous actions taken had any effect? - How long the user has been playing on our servers - Someone who is new will most likely not be familiar with our rules or the way the server works. They will need a little more leniency so they have fair time to learn what is and isn't allowed on our servers. Someone who has been on our server a long time will be more familiar with our rules and how we work. There are also a few other factors, and all of these are taken into account when any admin decides on taking action. I would also like to point out that a 1 day ban isn't very much at all and people receive a variety of actions depending on the above. It isn't just you that has been banned. Quote:2nd admin who seemed to be the one who even extended my ban (from 12 to 24 hours) then told me about an ominous "recorded warning" for my account that says: RE your URS. As I stated previously, this is a confidential record that shows any all actions taken by admins whilst you are on our servers - Nobody is obliged to tell you anything about this information upon any request (it is all mostly stuff you should remember happening anyway, if you can't remember, that isn't a good sign). All I will say is that you had been warned by an admin a couple of months ago - this would have been made clear to you. You had also received a kick from our server a month later for breaking a rule. Surri Wrote:now i get 1 day for scratching that speedtrap? I will be speaking to him shortly to try to find out what was said. However I will state that BP has given a small summary of why you were banned here; http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthre...1#pid52481 That should have been clear enough to understand why you were banned. Quote:the behavior of the 2 admins who seem to responsible is very poor so far too... as i stated before in this post. From what I have seen so far, I have seen nothing of concern. They were professional and polite and dealt with you fairly. Your attitude however seems quite different (I was reading the chatlogs from the last couple of days whilst looking into this). There are a few times when you insult people and have a generally poor attitude yourself. This needs to change if you want to stay out of trouble. If there is ever anything you are unsure of on our servers, feel free to PM me (or any TC) and ask us a question. Josh. |

RE: banned for scratching a car
As I told you via PM.
The factor of whether you disabled the speedtrap or not is irrelevant. You attempted to, That in my eyes is deliberate ramming. We acted upon that and based off your user record. Your ban ends in like 2 hours....... |

RE: banned for scratching a car
i knew it... complaining about tc members is useless as you protect your own members.
turbo, if you call this ramming, how do you call that when i do that with 100km/h? this was 5 - 10 km/h if i remember right. how should i know about any records if nobody tells me?... i have more important things to remember than when i have been kicked for which reason... seriously. further i don't get why records from months ago are still relevant. i changed my behavior after my first days on your servers. i am always driving arround as free tow to help others... and you call me rammer. this is very poor. i will remember this and report everyone for every little piss... as you do that too. bp i ignored your reply - thread is done for me, you may close it |

Well considering your ban ended like 3 days ago.
There is not much reason to keep this thread open any longer. |

RE: banned for scratching a car
I'd just like to add a response to your reply, just to sum a couple of things up for you.
(2012-11-09 12:30)Surri Wrote: i knew it... complaining about tc members is useless as you protect your own members. We will back them up 100% when they haven't done anything wrong, which in this case, they haven't. Surri Wrote:if you call this ramming, how do you call that when i do that with 100km/h? this was 5 - 10 km/h if i remember right. It is still ramming. Malicious ramming isn't defined by speed, although a ram with a higher speed may often be looked upon more harshly. Surri Wrote:how should i know about any records if nobody tells me?... For the most part, you should remember the more important times when an admin has taken action. We don't expect you to remember every little detail of every action (especially if you are a long serving user of our servers) but we do expect after each one that you learn something and have a better understanding of what and isn't allowed on our servers. Feel free to PM an answer if you wish. Josh. |
