I noticed that it's possible to spend the starting 10k on a locator or radar detector after a new player did exactly that. This meant that they had no money for a car.

Simple suggestion; Disable the ability to buy either feature unless a car is already owned. Shouldn't be too hard, and it would stop players trapping themselves like this.

Detects and warns you about speedtraps.

Not sure if it was fixed already, but can you still buy a new garage slot without owning a car?

I had to restrict the guy to a UF1 so disabling this is probably a good idea.

If it were up to me, people would only be able to buy a UF1, XFG or XRG upon entering the server for the first time.

Perhaps an insim menu when they first join giving them a choice, and it will buy it for them? That way, they don't have to learn the insim right when they join, but they can start driving without the worries of the market, commands, etc.

i like that idea.
that would also prevent a lot of crying "how do i get a car?" or "why don't i have a car?"
