RE: Hi there
So is that 1500r/min and 3000r/min or 300r/min?
I would assume that it's running too rich. Anyways if it runs okay for a while when the engine's still cold, it could be because of a broken coolant temperature sensor, it might give the ECU an impression that the engine is still cold and give it more fuel to keep it running (kind of like the choke on carburated engines) |

RE: Hi there
You should have said that in the first place If the car has been standing for a long time, anything could have happened. It could also be because of some pipe in the engine room being loose or pretty much anything You could try changing the spark plugs too.

RE: Hi there
Take it to your local garage. Like Audiojack said, if it's been standing for a while it could be anything...

RE: Hi there
Garages tend to cost a bucket of money, and if the car has been standing for long, it's probably not exactly driveable on the public roads..
As AJ said, it can be anything, so you should check if everything's tightened up on the engine bay as they should be, everything looks okay and try to take a look at the engine while it's idling, maybe you can notice a problem? And if still nothing, try to change the spark plugs Even if there's no problem with them, they don't cost much and will last for longer. |

RE: Hi there
I'd replace the fuel. If it's the same that's been in the car all the time, the it will have gone bad. The problem you're describing could be anything, but a fuel pump would be my guess if the issue continues after replacing the fuel.

I know cars that have problems running stable with for example Bosch spark plugs but work perfectly with similar plugs by Denso. Even if both sets are brand new. Some ignition systems simply are that precise. Yours could simply be worn or aged. If you can't seem to find any other problems then it would not be too expensive to change them (it's part of regular maintenance too you know). |
