RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
Don't buy it. Never ever buy branded PC's. Besides, what you are looking at is a server. It wont do gaming well at all. Also, it's several years old. You've got to be on the bare bottom regarding PC's to buy something like that for gaming.
Go for something prebuilt by a company specialized in such. You get Waaaay more performance for your money, and the ability to upgrade later. Also it'll be worth way more when you're going to sell it later on. |

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
Well, with that system, I'd sell it for 30-40£ and buy a new one for 350-450£.
I'm from Denmark, so I don't really know any places where you can buy prebuilt ones in the UK, but I know they're there. |

Why get a prebuilt computer anyway? It's not difficult to do it yourself, my cat could do it if it had thumbs.

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
all you need to know is how stay without a static charge, and what parts you should get. If you're looking for a low budget gaming rig, the AMD Trinity APUs should do the trick. Sure, the graphics are somewhat intergrated, but it's miles better than what you have now.

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
From what I've read in this minus the silly posts, I would recommend having a look here:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlis...y=priceAsc I guess you're not much of a nerd by the specs you have posted above, which is good, because I'm not 1 either. If you're looking for a simple choice to make, check out my link Or if you're feeling adventurous and enjoying the darkness and comfort of your bedroom/basement, then maybe attempt building your own. Just my 2 cents |

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
Nah, building your own is really easy. Just post pictures and questions here.
This is a small shopping list I made for you: Case Motherboard - Just find a list of the most popular ones atm, and pick the most popular one that fits into your budget. Make sure your CPU is compatible with its socket. CPU - Go for intel Core i5 (preferable 3570K) RAM - DDR3, go for 1600MHz. Just pick some of the cheapest. Doesn't really matter that much. Graphics card - Go for AMD HD7850 or Nvidia GTX 660 or alike. (google it) PSU - Go for something Corsair. 450W+ should do it for your setup. If money is for it, maybe an SSD to speed up boot, load times and saving times. |

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
Motherboard is basic on features, but good quality. If you want to get more RAM in future, you'd have to replace what you get now as it doesn't have room for more.
Can be found cheaper though (£216.27): http://www.ebuyer.com/349029-intel-core-...637i53570k http://www.ebuyer.com/350251-gigabyte-lg...a-h61m-ds2 If your budget is getting tight, an i5-3550 is a bit cheaper and barely any slower (3%). (I've only looked at ebuyer so far, you might find it cheaper at scan.co.uk/dabs.com/overclockers.co.uk) |

(2013-04-10 09:57)Weelob Wrote: CPU: This is actually quite good, but go for the AMD Radeon HD7870 or 7850 instead. Performs close to the same, at half the price as the Nvidia GTX660Ti. Also, a 450W+ PSU could easily do it, so there you can shave some off from the budget. |

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
When +3GB you need 64bit for the computer to calculate the total amount og ram. if you have 32bit with 8gb for an example you will only get to use about 3.25GB.
That system is quite nice PS: I have the same motherboard, so if you need help just ask in this thread (I hate PM's ) |

RE: Gaming Computer HP XW8200
That's really nice. Did you order the parts and all? Or did you virtually build it? (find parts and make a list)
If you actually took the initiative to try and go all the way with a self-build, then massive thumps up to you! Ask whatever you need help with, if you should run into trouble. |
