RE: Medic: Close the Road
To be honest with you, are the MEDs such noobs?
Of course I defend myself, I am a MED, but I don't see that much crashes happen to be honest, apart from some people who drive through cautions on purpose... |

RE: Medic: Close the Road
Well put it this way. [COP]s already have this power. Dial-A-Cop and ask them to put up a block instead of making a further over glorified [TOW] unit ?

Of course, that doesn't apply to all MEDs, but it is true that there are a larger proportion of 'noob' MEDs than any other role. The primary causes of the problem are these: (although there are a few more) 1. A lot of people with revoked cop rights tend to be drawn to the MED role, because they can still drive fast with sirens. Many of these people lost their cop rights in the first place due to the inability to drive fast with sirens without causing havoc, the inability to restrain themselves from driving fast (usually with sirens) when not in a chase, difficulty following instructions, or a combination of the three. These issues all apply to the MED role. 2. There are no proper rules regarding MEDs (although there are now official guidelines while we work on some) and no means of revoking MED rights. Hopefully, we will have solutions for those soon. |

Someone needs to decide one way or another if they're going to be part of the system, and if they are, they need to have 'Standard Operating Procedures' and rules set up. [MED] is a role that's been in limbo for a looong time now. |

RE: Medic: Close the Road
I can't seen why those guidelines haven't been added to the rules yet. As the content is pretty much clear, it shouldn't take too much effort to put it in the rules.
Having multiple little isles of information is just counter-productive. The guideline thread has only 177 views as of now, not surprising as it is perfectly hidden in a pile of single-purpose threads. |
