He's protesting the fact that those VIP cars abuse their privileges on the road, and put other drivers at risk as a result, hence the blue bucket on his head.

No not really, cops still have to follow the road rules and obey the law, sure there are some exceptions when they do have their siren on, but they SHOULD be equal as other drivers when they don't.

The thing is, in Russia you can actually buy the right to carry a blue light and use it whenever you want and for any reason you want. So, it has become less of an emergency signal but more a "gtf out of my way" signal for rich people.
No wonder why people are upset about it.

He looked like he wasn't parked to me. Had his left turn signal on. Probably just not giving a damn what the lane markings say. The guy was in a suit so I highly doubt it was an (undercover) cop. Notice how when the guy runs away he just turns the blue light on and speeds off? Russia is a crazy place. Tongue

There is some more passive form of protest though. Saw it actually a long time ago on TV where people simply mounted blue buckets or even barrels on their car-roofs. The bigger the better.
