RAM speed issues
I'm having a bit of an issue with setting the memory speed on my motherboard, (ASUS Sabertooth 990FX). According to the manual, my memory sticks are completely compatible, and setting it on automatic forces them to go 1333 MHz instead of the intended 1866 MHz. Setting them manually any other speed than 1333 (with the proper timing) makes the system refuse to boot, the PC shuts off just as the UEFI BIOS screen shows up.
For the record, the memory kit I'm using is Corsair's CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 kit, which is part of their Vengeance line. If anyone has any idea on how this can be fixed, please post. |

My CPU is an AMD FX 8350, I've been reading it should work.

I think his motherboard supports up to 2133MHz if you set it up properly. Just throwing that out there. Certainly seems like it's on the motherboard's end, but I'm not sure how to help. Have you googled around for any solutions? |

RE: RAM speed issues
Have you updated your BIOS to the latest version?

RE: RAM speed issues
yes, everything is on the latest version, setting the XMP profile in the bios does the same result as manually setting it.
The only way I could see this working at the moment is overclocking the FSB, but I don't feel like doing a lot of it. |

Download that: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.67-en.zip
and show the output from the SPD page. As shown here: http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/ima...ir_SPD.png (src: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html ) |

RE: RAM speed issues
Maybe it's just defective?
Contact Corsair and/or ASUS. |

RE: RAM speed issues
Only thing I haven't tried is to add extra voltage, something apparently needed.
