its not only about how fast u r and if u can keep up with the suspect, cause sometimes unexpected stuff happens. and more fun its anyways.

That was nicely thought and done, great job. Also you are right, for example, some chases are more of an endurance test; could you keep up with the suspect whilst not damaging your car or heat up your tyres? Anyways, nice policing.
