If you're an inexperienced driver, yes it does cost around that much in the UK

For me to get insured on a 1.3L Toyota Yaris in my first year of driving it would cost me £1300. In most other places you're looking at £1700, more popular and built up areas mean your insurance will also be higher because UK logic.. I much prefer the American insurance system
