Depends on both of these:
A. You have the install media and key
B. You wont be able to use your laptop because it will be deactivated.

When I built my new PC last April, I could use the same Windows 8.1 key off my old machine, however, when I transferred the license over, it rendered my old PC deactivated. I did this by entering my product key into windows, then it said that key was already in use, but there was an option iirc to phone Windows Activation and place the product ID (NOT key) from the new PC, it then activated my new PC and deactivated my old PC.

However, if you didn't use the internet in any way on your laptop, you could keep the same installation, because the laptop needs to communicate with the internet for it to deactivate itself.
