Mandatory exam/test for persistent rulebreakers
(afaik) When a COP misbehaves, the cop license can be revoked by admins, and they can make this player do a practical exam to get the COP license back, the so called "Basic training". I have no experience in this myself (luckely).
Besides the whole copping thing, it is not uncommon to come across players who break many basic serverrules, even after being warned by an admin. Some of these players are fairly new to the server. Now instead of an admin asking them about whether or not they have read the rules, and/or banning them, why not make these players finish an theoretical exam, just like the exams you would have to do like if you want to get a license for COP, TOW, etc.? This way the rulebreakers must finish such a test before he/she can return to the game. The purpose of this new feature is to make sure persistent rulebreakers actually read the rules, thus making the server more pleasant for other players. Please note: This mandatory test should only be imposed on repeat offenders, not just to any rulebreaker. The only real downside of this suggestion (beside the work to implent it) is if a person does not yet have a TC World account. How can such a person go onto TC World to start the exam? In this case I would say that the player would be able to join any TC server, and he/she would immediately get a message that would redirect him/her to TC World, with a temporary password. After this, the player automaticly gets kicked. So in the chat (h) the player can still see the website link, with the username and password to log on to. I would be honored to help out with providing questions, answers and/or pictures for the basic serverrules test. Here are some examples: Ahead you see a tow truck and a vehicle that's crashed. You see yellow text on your screen that says "CAUTION". How should you react? A: The caution sign is only a suggestion, I can just speed past the incident. B: I should reduce my speed and approach the incident with caution. C: I should come to a full stop, untill the caution sign is off. Someone just failed to give way, and crashed into you. This person now drives off without saying anything. How should you react? A: I can try to talk to this player about the crash he/she just caused. If the player still doesn't react I can contact an online admin to handle the situation, or use the !report command. B: I can immediaty use the !report command. C: If I see the player again I can revenge ram him/her. Are you allowed to drive wrong way on the Autobahn? A: Yes, but only for a short distance. B: Yes, but only when I'm being chased by the police. C: No, it is strictly forbidden. Is arab drifting (hajwalah/tafheet) allowed everywhere? A: Yes, as long as you don't endanger other players. B: No, unless you are in a stuntzone. C: No, unless you are in a pitlane or stuntzone. |
