I mean, the winds aren't even that strong - Not calling it a light breeze though. We have storms like this and stronger (seriously, we've broken several anemometers) every year in the Faroe Islands, so we're fairly used to preparing for them. If you leave scaffolding, trampolines and loose *Removed* in general lying around, it will go flying and cause damage. That is why everyone makes sure that everything is packed away or tied down. Especially at construction sites etc. For once I'm going to agree here. I mean yes it was semi bad in certain area's of the UK but "damm" the media makes a big big big fuss over it. All day on the news, interviews with people that "i couldn't get to the shop" or "my plant pot blew over" talk about over the top. Seen the pictures on the net already or papers of cars being smashed or houses, that's going to happen when a storm hits but making out it was as worst as the 1987 hurricane that hit England... well sorry it wasn't. Where i live i was actually in the path of it yet we had some heavy rain for some hrs, abit of wind, hardly anything that destroyed things. It was the south/south east/west that got hit hard. Just wait till we get the smallest bit of snow.. whole country comes to a halt!! Health and safety gone out the window. |
