Is this area legal to park in or not?

Not going to mention any names, but I'm getting mixed messages from people whether or not this spot is legal to park in as a civilian (and or as cop).

It looks like a parking spot to be honest, but an admin has been proven that it's not a legal place to park.

I had to be in the picture did'nt I... lol I was doing admin work to be fair But as Pipa said, that is classed as a non parking area, as in real life, cross hatchings are a restricted zone for vehicles.

Strictly speaking, no. It is a hatched area, which is deemed as an 'illegal' area to park on by the fine list.

As for cops, they are usually exempt from parking laws if they need to park somewhere to carry out their duties (such as !lasering speeders etc.

I personally haven't fined people parked there a huge number of times, probably no more than 5 in the last 6 years.

As per the fine-list:

Illegal parking (30€)
It’s illegal to park:
- On the road, including curbs (except side roads)
- On grass
- On cross-hatched areas (except pits)
Stopping/halting is allowed as long the stopped car doesn't cause an immediate danger to others.

Technically, its a cross-hatched area as well as a curb. Most people park here and I rarely see cops fining people for parking there. Most of them usually park there to join a chase since its pretty much the best place to get anywhere on the track.

I wouldnt fine you for parking there but the rules states that you could get fined for that.

Those's lines would class as:

If people wish to AFK / Park up, then there is a suitable car park across the road

I don't see a problem in hanging around in there, but AFK:ing there is just stupid. That's one of the best places for cops to laser, join chases and chase wrongsiders and roundabout drifters, so cops should be allowed to park in there, but not AFK there.

Grass = Illegal parking. So you can get a fine of 30€

SO what happens when someone gets fined for illegal parking in that spot, but still doesn't move after you fine him? Do you re-fine him or what? Because paying 30 euro to go AFK in that spot (or any spot) isn't really all that much tbh. Maybe an upgraded fine from 30 euro to 60 or 80 for those who don't move.

The problem with raising the fine is that other cops won't know the person in question has been fined, and the person could end up being fined a ludicrous amount of money, but then again I agree that 30 Euros is peanuts.

EDIT: Also, I don't think you should purposely re-fine someone for illegal parking if it's the same situation.

Issuing more than 1 (yourself) fine for someone who is illegally parked in the same spot is not allowed. Other cops may issue a single fine themselves.
