RE: Andriod-iphone app
I know on iPhone you can go to the website on Safari and add it to your home screen thus making a direct link.

RE: Andriod-iphone app
I doubt there's a way to make an app that contains all of the forums on it. Don't know if MyBB supports that kind of thing? And then that would require more coding work to make a replica of the forums, I guess?
Would be cool if it was possible, and easily done. |

Also, the best system to have the forums on a Phone- Version is Tapatalk For android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...vity&hl=en For iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tapatalk...80732?mt=8 However, it has to be installed on the forums. |

RE: Andriod-iphone app
Also if somebody would want to develop an app for iPhone he'd need to pay Apple to do so afaik
Edit: also moved to a more appropiate forum section |

RE: Andriod-iphone app
I think you can develop providing you have an Apple product (iMac), but you have to pay for the developer's license on the Apple Store, which is around £50 iirc, not entirely sure.

RE: Andriod-iphone app
An Android app is in the pipeline. It's a personal project so don't expect it any time soon.
A bit more detail. It would primarily be a statistics app for the CityDriving servers but it will support other functionality too such as real-time chat. Turning the forum into a mobile friendly website (MFW) is a relatively simple task compared to building a native app for it. Tapatalk and similar products would be something we could look into if people wanted but I would prefer to create a mobile-friendly version of the forum instead. It just means we would have full control over the look and feel of the forum rather than letting some third party app do it. Besides, we've heavily modded this theme so I doubt Tapatalk would enjoy it very much. You do not need an Apple product to develop for iOS or Mac. You simply need a developer license. An Apple iOS developer license costs something in the region of $99/£65 per year depending on which country you live in. An Android developer license costs $25 and it's a one off payment. A Windows Developer license is also $99/£65 per year. I am already considering getting myself an iOS developer license, even if it's only for one year. I've already got an Android license and a PhoneGap subscription so it wouldn't be too much more to build something for iOS. I'll keep you all posted. |

RE: Andriod-iphone app
Fair enough. It would be great for an iOS application though, as we all know that it's the superior OS.

There are also some built-in functions which are mostly forgotten:
Lite (Archive) Mode | RSS Syndication Check the bottom of any page. |

RE: Andriod-iphone app
I have been on Forums with over 1.5 million registered users and they are barely developing an app.
The traffic to this site is just not high enough to even be worth an app. In other words, chuck would be wasting money in a way. See where you are coming fom though. |

The development costs aren't nearly as much as they were. I'm still not sure an app for the forum is a wise move but a stats/chat app is certainly something I've been pondering for ages and will get around to finishing and deploying it at some point as mentioned in my previous post. |

Good suggestion, the other day I was also thinking about an application which shows the server statistics. Nice to see that it's actually on the do-list.

RE: Andriod-iphone app
I've never seen an application for a forum that worked anything near as good as a normal version, usually the desktop version works fine aswell.
