RE: Insurance & Police System
Nice idea Ryan, adding onto the !check <vin> - could that be implanted so that will show the cars info in a list perhaps in the main chat, so things like;
VIN, Registered Owner, Insured or not, Condition (%), Miles untill service maybe ? EDIT: Oh and having the VIN of the car on the online server stats page ? |

Miles until service and condition could easily be added on, and could even be used. Maybe if you are overdue on a service by a certain amount you're fined? True, but it would add incentive to insure your car and make it more realistic. |

RE: Insurance & Police System
ID System So this was our first idea, We thought of an ID System This means every player hold and ID Card, This contains 2 Commands as a regular player: !myid (Shows yourself your ID) !id username (Shows your ID to another player) Eksample, An Officer have followed a Black FXO at Main street and decides to pull it over.. The Officer comes up and say: Officer: Hello Sir can i see some ID? Me: Sure Officer. Me: !id (username) And the Officer will get this: This means the officer will be able to see the following: Name: ([CSR] Ras if i was pulled over) Driver License Since: (When the player first joined TC) Vehicle: (What vehicle is registered at the VIN number Below) VIN: (VIN Number of the Vehicle upon) Insurance:(Dose the Vehicle have Insurance or not) And thing that the officer will see can ofcourse be add'ed. Still looking forward for ideas and replies |

RE: Insurance & Police System
Maybe you could change it so 'ID' is separate, and the '!check <VIN>' only shows the current car and it's details, while 'id username' could show
Name: Nickname (Username) Driver License Since:1/1/11 Previous Accidents:12 Distance driven: Registered Vehicles: 2 UF1, FXO, RB4 Total paid fines: €3000 (2012-01-03 00:13)Lewis Wrote: Nice idea ras but... What if the suspect refused to give his or her id ?? They could be fined €500 for 'refusing to give details'. Or the cop could simply use the '!id' command themselves. |

RE: Insurance & Police System
The main problem really is keeping it simple and foolproof and making sure those who just want to drive can.
I've sectioned some ideas off here with bold text, just because there's sooooo many possibilities here - It looks abit overwhelming but they're all individual suggestions so feel free to quote and tweak. Note carefully that there are two sources of information the cop is using here, the driver's license, and the car's VIN Insurance Adjusting insurance cost by number of crashes is unreliable as it's not always there fault (as Ras said). Instead, changing Insurance Costs based on the amount(rate) of times the vehicle is stopped by Police for breaking the law is a more reliable system that would encourage the balancing out of suspects and civilians, meaning that not everyone is breaking the law at once (This cost factor is based on the license holders history and not the car's VIN) Then factor in, the cost of the car, UF1 = Cheap to Insure, wheras XFR = not. And perhaps also the condition? Some complex behind the scene equations that nobody needs to understand but Chuck The idea here is that you can't afford to be Toretto and break the laws all day in an XFR and still afford to drive Having to enter commands to check the drivers details all the time will be hassle, instead it should be an automatic process that checks the drivers license once pulled over - When the Driver is pulled over, the details are displayed above the fine menu Then we can do this - Bear with me here; Users Not Paying Insurance If the user does not pay insurance they gain the benefit of not paying insurance - But if they get caught breaking the law and they are pulled over, they will have +50 added to whatever fine they are going to receive. Once the user pays they are warned that if the next time they are pulled over, if they don't have insurance there car will be seized and put in the impound. Cars kept in the impound can be recovered optionally for a large fee (5,000 or so?) and if the user doesn't recover there car within an hour it gets crushed. If the user runs there car will get impounded if they are caught even if it is first offense (Gives them a good reason to pull over ) ANPR Or AVINR in [TC]'s case Will be a special tool for a few cops, it'll allow them to see details of cars they've not stopped. ANPR Units should not be all of the police cars - instead only a few, perhaps we could promote advanced training since we're lacking in trainee's by giving it to people who take and pass advanced? The flaw here ofcourse is that suddenly uninsured drivers can't escape by following the laws.. Stolen cars ANPR Systems IRL Automatically register if or not the car has been stolen So here's a further suggestion.. AVINR (ANPR) Units, don't see insurance details upon scanning - Instead, they can only see if the cars stolen or not.. Stolen??? Yep - Lets say users can steal back there own cars, what happens here is if the user leaves the pit in the car they've had impounded, it has a stolen status for.. 20 minutes?* *20 minutes so the user doesn't go afk in a corner, thanks to idle kick The benefit for the user is they don't have to pay for recovering there car, but the drawback is they risk being scanned by an AVINR and flagged as stolen, at which point there car will just get impounded again if they manage to catch the driver Maybe if a stolen car gets impounded they can't drive it for a day? =============================== Well these are all just ideas that are going through my mind when I think about it, i've logged them here, disagree, agree, change comment as you will |

RE: Insurance & Police System
I love the ideas Tommer.
Quote:Having to enter commands to check the drivers details all the time will be hassle, instead it should be an automatic process that checks the drivers license once pulled over - When the Driver is pulled over, the details are displayed above the fine menuTbh, it's too easy to see the details that way. Make a button which says ''Ask for car details''. When the cop clicks it, the suspect must click another button which says ''Give car details''. If he doesn't click it, the chase has begun. Quote:Cars kept in the impound can be recovered optionally for a large fee (5,000 or so?) and if the user doesn't recover there car within an hour it gets crushed.What bout some more time? Not too much, just 2 hours, since 1 hour seems so little time imo. Quote:ANPR Units should not be all of the police carsSomething for the trainers there. About the stolen cars; - If the suspect gets caught within x minutes after he stole it (or maybe in the pits?), the car goes to the impound and he's not able to steal it again. Great thinking Tommer. |

The user is given a count down, in which time they have the option to run, or else there details are automatically given to the officer once the time is up? Quote:I disagree with the fact that cars should be impounded if in a chase. If so then increase the time to pay the fee or reduce the price of the fee. They would not be impounded unless they're caught - maybe a slight misunderstanding there With the fee/time this is changeable ofcourse |

RE: Insurance & Police System
I don't mean to bump this thread however i do think this is a good idea, another reason we need a reward for the km bonus. I disagree that a car should be impounded as what if its the users only car! Also how much fun is it for the cop if all that happens is that everyone stops?
