Trustmaster T500RS worth a buy?
Hello everyone,
I have owned G25's and G27's, 5 in total because they last for not more then two years and I am sick of the G27 after a new buy in December and showing problems just 3 weeks after getting it. I am looking now to buy a Trustmaster but it seems to come with a few problems: - H-shifter sold seperaid - Lack of buttons But is this worth a T500RS? Is the FFB much better? And does the few extra degrees of rotation give you a more realistic feel? Let me know what you guys think about the T500RS |

TigR has one. You'll have to ask him.

I have had numerous G27's, and I would buy a T500RS if I had the money. Clearly it is better, and anything saying anything else, obviously haven't ever tried one. Yes, you have to buy accessories to it, but then again you do get a full sized racing wheels with way better- and of higher quality- functionality and internals than the G27.

But yeah problem is a H-shifter and the lack of buttons :/ I was thinking to use gPad, but I rather have somekind of buttonbox but yeah another big price to pay for that :/ |

I just use the Thrustmaster wheel and pedals, but also have just the G27 wheel and shifter plugged in so i can use the shifter and the buttons on that one. Just ask me if you got any questions about it and i'll try to answer them as well as i can! There is only really one think i want to say: Make sure you got enough space because that wheel is Massive

He was just unlucky or did something wrong. I've never had any problems with it and i don't know of any other who have had the same problem.

RE: Trustmaster T500RS worth a buy?
I had one, worked fine for the first year and a half. One day it began to not register in windows as 't500rs' or some variation of that, instead it registered as a 'thrustmaster ffb wheel' which didn't sound right. At first I could get around this problem by restarting my pc and trying a different usb port and it would show up as the correct wheel, but after a few hours it would do the same thing. Once I got sick of this I got it to recognise properly to do a firmware update and it got to about 75% and failed because the power was lost somehow (the power was still in, usb was in as well) and so that bricked it. And of course that happened a week after the warranty ran out.
The pedals weren't that much better either, with the clutch spring breaking after just over a year of use and those springs are impossible to find, so I had no clutch, it was on 30% all the time if I used it. The close to $700 I spent on it (and the $280 I could have spent instead on a G27) I find this rather poor for the money with all the issues I had with mine, build quality isn't as good as I thought it would be. So I've now got a $700 paperweight that lives in the garage now, I probably could fix it if I found a new mainboard for it, since the ROM is now corrupted from the unknown power loss. That kind of use was the same as my G25 and the only thing that ever went wrong in the 5 years I had it was the pedals spiked because the pots were dirty. I now have a G27 with fanatec CS V2 pedals and the G25 shifter I kept from selling the G25. Looking forward to another 5 years from a logitech wheel |
