Ok..this evening whilst walking my dog along teh seafront from sandown to shanklin i let my Dog of the lead so he could have a run, bearing in mind this was about 20.20 at night normally pretty quiet this time of year. Just ahead was an oldish couple taking an evening stroll aswell, Tyson my dog was still off the lead at this point enjoying his stroll along the beach/beach path too, Tyson saw the couple ahead and took a trot upto them to say Hi!! (Tyson is a very loving, soppy,baby,soft happy dog). When typson reached them he stopped and jumped up at the woman (i was calling tyson back and at one point he did turn to come back but then turned round and walked up to them and jumped up to the Lady) the lady shouted and pushed him away, i immediatly apologised as he got a bit of sand on her coat. She shouted out to me control your bloody dog i replied "i do have control he just wanted to come and say hello like if we were passes by and said evening to each other.
She then replied i dont care get him on the lead he shouldnt be of it, i said well im sorry but he is allowed, then she said why are u walking along here thats not allowed either, i replied oh but it is too look at the signs madam and it will state when we can take our dogs along this stretch of beach (which is from 31st October - 1st May every yr and dogs are allowed to be let of the lead and on the beach in these time zones). She then replied im going to report u to the dog warden ur dog is out of control (tyson was sat by side of me wagging his tail) yer really out of control NOT..anyway i replied sure if u feel like i hsave done something wrong etc, she said i will when i get back to hotel, i then said oh but hang on better still would u like to talk to him now i have the number on my phone, so i got the phone out of my pocket and went to dial the number, she was at this point just stood there mouth open LOL!!, i said his name is Myk and he a friendly guy, i said here take my phone and speak to him, she replied No! i will speak later, i said OK will save my money on the phone..
The next bit was just shocking what she came out with....
she then said ur one of these ppl that have probs never worked and sponge of the dole and are a trouble maker (Ok bearing in mind im literally going for an eveing stroll before i go to work). I said "I beg ur pardon", she said YOU heard, i said i sure as hell did and who are to make a judgement on who i am and what i do, she said most young ones like you are...At this point i could of walked away but i was not going to be patronized..So i said well i you no im nearly a 40 yr old woman and i started work at 14 on my Uncles local milk round, then after that i done a morning paper round, then also done a paper round after school and earnt myself £17-00 a week doing it,and have worked dayum hard ever since, so in future dont judge a walker by whose dog came to say hello..Then she replied but he got sand on my coat, again i said sorry and offered to pay for it to be washed, she just said NO thanks now move along child, as you can imagine by now this woman was just a tad pushing the boat out to far (Tyson still sat by my side). So i turned and said ok Lady u have some issues going on im no longer discussing this situation with u and turned round and walked off, all the while the lady was muttering things like bloody stupid woman, cant control her dog, bet she has never worked, etcetc,..
Now what i said next was out of shear annoyance TBH
I turned and said go back to ur hotel, make urself a cuppa love and go put ur feet up, ur acting like a 2yr old throwing a temper tanturm and turned back round and continued to walk home and then head to work
SO....
was i bad azz girl and should of had my dog on the lead, yes i can take into account this lady may of had a fear of dogs or thought threatened by an excitable dog coming towards her, but he just jumped up slowly and put a paw print on her coat!!!

B) If you're allowed to walk your dog there, then do it. Provided you clean up after it, then nobody can take any issue. If she doesn't like it, then she can jog on (I have 2 dogs myself, both very soppy friendly types).

She may have had a small right to be pissed if she got her coat dirty or something, but there is no excuse for that kind of abusive language.

There was a small sand paw print mark on her coat inwhich she brushed it of and nothing more could be seen (the coastal footpath is very very well lit up). So no damage at all to her clothing, i think this woman was just having a bad hair day tbf even though her hair was neat and tidy and she was very well elderly dressed lady, anyhoo Yes! street feel better after my Rant lol. I most certainly will Not be patronized by a passer by and accept to be spoken to like that.
I should of offered her my maltesers i was eating hahaha..ok sorry that was a bit naughty..but wellll some elderly ppl huh!

Some people just don't like dogs and i had plenty of these conversations in the forrest while both dogs were never even interested or came to close to them.

Just tell them to f off and continue, no point talking to them and ruin your trip with the dogs.

Just a stuck up old lady you did the right thing. I have them in my hotel quite a lot they will moan and complain about anything they can. Our dog is also soppy and friendly but funny when go passed a few badasses they don't like the look of him so just say "come on killer" lol

Its people like this that ruin things for others. Just because there is a certain number of people compared to the other number of people who do work for a living isntead of sponging off the dole, immediately everyone who sounds and looks like working class is immediately on the dole ! Its downright disgusting that people make this assumption and it really gets on my damn nerves when people accuse people who work hard for a living and these people are actually the ones they step on and get fired just because they got something ridiculous wrong or like this example, they get their own way because of something ridiculous. What an absolute snob ! People like this have a name where I come from, a stuck up :ahem: whatsyoucallit. Whatever is up her butt, she needs to remove it before someone who really is on the dole shuts her mouth for her.

Yes, these old people fought for our country and what not but to be honest, some just take it too far.


On topic;
You were not in the wrong, if there is a sign saying you can do it then you are perfectly fine. I love how she said nothing else when you had the phone number there also. A sandy paw print ? Doesnt she have a tissue or something ? I mean, if were going on assumptions then surely she would have a pack of tissues to hand. Absolutely ridiculous. Unless the jacket cost more than any of us can afford then she really needs to get a grip on reality.

Of course you were in the right, Saffy. But I'm afraid trying to reason with people like that is like trying to put an angry elephant in it's place by throwing cheese at it. Perhaps the only solution is to kill her..

Once a neighbor knocked on my door and told me I was blocking his car. I could swear I hadn't blocked it, but went out to look in case I'd made a mistake and hadn't realized. It turned out I hadn't blocked any car in any way at all and anyone with at least 1 arm and 1 leg could probably have driven it out the gap. I said "I think you can get out..". He said "move your car or I will". I found this very rude so I got in my car and ran him over. Job done.

Okay, so I didn't run him over, but I did drive pretty recklessly past him and then next day I parked in what he thought was "his" car parking space. As a result he tried to block me in the space, which completely failed, and as a result he was a much quieter and shy person next time I saw him.

I certainly would of reminded her of the Law and how her behavior was inappropriate to undermine you for something that isn't your fault. A dog also has its own brain and knows for well what its doing.
