Clarification of Arabic rules

Yes I agree with that, I have really nothing against this idea as it would really help them understand how it works.

However I do not think this would solve all the problems we have with those specific users. InSim is English, Chases are English, main chat is English, Admin warnings are english, Forum reports, admin actions by administrators are written in english.

That's what im trying to say...

Yeah you abandoned the idea in another thread but after this, isn't it obvious to get arabs better and better support for them to enjoy our community more without having to learn english (thats regarding move command stuff, for it to be on your screen like sirens or smth)

Why, you say? Your above suggestion is obviously an uncouth and unsophisticated proposition of the chain of events that will occur as a result of a few simple translations, which rubbed off as ignorance.

How does one convey sarcasm in a post? Do tell me how it was clear you were being sarcastic.

It was not a suggestion or motion to put forth. Surely you did not take turning this community arabic seriously.. but perhaps you did. Unsophisticated you say? Funny you say that. Simple translations have unfolded comparably throughout human existence.

One can convey sarcasm just as you have showed being annoyed.

Anyway, translate rules, need to figure out communication.

The more I think the more I can understand joining a server and having little boxes at the top of your screen you cant understand. Would not do anything for me. Im sure it will take a lot of work if this moved on, unfortunately I can only translate from English to Redneck or I would be willing to assist.

Next time I am going for is making the inSim arabic, then turning LFS into an arabic game.

And by the way Frozen & others, You see dylan, hiktoor, mstkn& alfdraly? I am sure you've seen them. They are the only people who I taught them the basic rules like stay away from chases, speak english, don't ram, drive on the correct side, the autobahn rule and some others too, and look at them now, they are not annoying like the others.

Edit: what is the main problem, Frozen? Maybe we can fix it.

I dont think I have ever found any of them annoying. I personally get good entertainment out of the Arab drifting (and fails) they bring. Its a good laugh for me. Good efforts though explaining everything to them.

Lets not take the 'Murican approach on this, shall we?

Translating the rules does not mean the whole TC is going to be invaded by arabic people nor does Pete suddenly convert to islam. I'd say anyone can translate the rules to their language if the translation is somewhat accepted by the TC admins and is actually CORRECT, which the current arabic translation is not. From my point of view Kookoo is willing to spend his time to make the game more playable to more players and i dont have a problem with that.

Stop being asshats and think about yourself not knowing english and trying to play a game you find interesting but it has so many rules that you cant understand. Can't force countries to teach english to everyone just so they can play games, can we now?

To Petsu: Stop asshatting you were taught english in school and so was I. No problem using that and i have no intention to whine about having to use it.

In that case I could translate the rules to Latvian, it's always great to give something to the community.
The idea behind this suggestion is great, it will surely show that the community is a great place to be.

It will just attract more and more new players, what's so bad about that? Anyone who for some reason might disagree with this suggestion should stop thinking about themselves and for once try to give something back to the community!

It certainly came across as a suggestion that this is what will happen, which I did take seriously. May I remind you we're talking about a game, not a country, not a continent, not a trade bloc, a game. A community within that game in fact. It is rather laughable if you think this is directly comparable with how countries and so on have evolved and adapted throughout hundreds of years.

I guess the main reason why we switched to google auto translation was the state the old translations were in. Most were outdated, it is a lot of effort to do them and a lot of effort to keep them up to date.

Also google translate has improved a lot over the years and works rather well in german for example. Obviously some problems here and there, but overall they are understandable.

I personally don't mind an inofficial arab translation on the forum. Could be very useful for us to guide arabic speaking people to and wouldn't interfer with anything else.

Of all the responses I read in here, only one made sense to me:

If you don't speak english, you can't be a cop.

Why don't we add these to the rules? I think its a pretty basic requirement that will help everybody.

As for translating the rules, I suggest that we start a translating community so that people will be able to translate them to other languages.

That's just causing more hassle and generating more work than what's actually needed. It's nothing other than players from Saudi Arabia that are causing us problems - and that's not being racist, that's telling the truth. The overload in players from this area cause:

1. Administrators to feel they can't play the game the way they like because of this influx (proven);
2. Other regulars to get put off, resulting in them not playing as often and;
3. An influx of user reports - which again puts stress on the admins
   

I'm confident that developing some Arabic rules in this alphanumeric language that the players seem to speak will help.

Your argument might be that as administrators, this is our job. Correct, our job is to enforce the rules, but that's virtually impossible when the players have no interest in following our English rule set. Hence, producing a set they're capable of reading would seem logical.
