RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
Autofine on traffic lights is not an good idea. We are already auto losing money when were speeding. And let the cops do the job on the traffic lights. I also really dont like the road works, at high speed areas. I think roadworks and traffic lights would be a perfect match on South City.

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
From my perspective, the 'roadworks' implementation is a failure.
On the bright side it makes the game realistic and opens up opportunities to have some new systems and fines. |

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
I think its too early to jump to conclusions. Those roadworks will certainly become a lot less once everyone played around with it a few days or weeks.
As for the chases, the map is a living ground, not a laboratory. IMHO many chases are already way too risky and too fast. |

Badam, its realism no? That's all I have to add to that comment.
How would it work eh? Would it be if your an inch over the line then fine? Because that would be people being fined left right and center, cause people can misjudge the braking, however it is a semi good feature, but as far as I know, cops can fine for dangerous driving, then if people choose to run, the fine can be higher. Still, lets raise #addspeedcameras. |

-1 for this one, there's already enough automated fines. Only another way for cops to be lasy

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
Although I'm not in favour of automatic fines for jumping the lights, it would be good if something is done to enforce the lights system more so than it currently is.
The thing I've noticed with the traffic lights is it draws people into a false sense of security. This is because instead of checking for other cars, they're just assuming green means it is definitely safe (which some may argue is a reasonable assumption). However, this obviously isn't true when you have a whole group of users who ignore the lights system. Hence, crashes occur because people are less willing to actually check if it's safe, because they're instead replacing this judgement entirely for a green light, assuming everybody else will follow the light system. Without the lights, people were forced to check for other cars or risked not doing so at their own peril. |

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
Well, its a mind thing. Take the T-junction for example. Just because you used to had priority in the past on Main St. doesn't mean you still have it. Just imagine, 1 month ago, someone pulled out from Pond Lane causes a crash and blamed the one on Main St. for "not looking if its safe". Running a red light is *as bad* and *as wrong* as turning from a non-priority road into a priority road without giving way.
Well, if nothing happens I don't see a problem but if that causes a crash, it counts as ramming and can be punished by admins. |

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
I really like the traffic lights addition which has become on the servers.
Also i personally respect the red light and im not the only one. About the crashing which people think is gonna occur from the traffic lights when people not paying attention, im pretty sure people who run red lights know that there is green light on the other side and are aware that there is possibility of players driving straight on your way without knowing or looking since they trust the green light like in real life. Also if that happens the red light runner should not be the one asking for apologies maybe if its a cop in a chase since ignoring sirens etc.. but anyways, you know my point. Roadworks are also awesome extra, like you guys dont have road works where you live? Yeah right... It brings awesome little bits of realism to the servers also. Autofine from running red lights.. mm.. eww... -1. It would be little too much of "controlling" how people drive. You can go as a COP next to the lights and bust people who run them simply as that. |

and again a point more on pointless reports,
you drive at 120 km h to a traffic light crossing? would be informed of the advantageous speed limit down. |

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
The biggest problem is, is that different countries use the traffic light in different ways. We can't help that. I.e, I think it's either in Australia or America, where they can run a red light if they are turning left or right.

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
I think for consistency purposes you shouldn't be able to run a red light at all (no exceptions with 'turn right on red' for right side driving, etc.)

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
I doubt any country in the world allows running red lights at all.
Theres always an indication that allows you to do so, e.g. text-signs, green arrow-signs, traffic lights actually behind the intersection and not infront and so on. Red = stop, if no exceptions are visible. |

RE: Traffic Lights - often ignored
Still dont see any intersections without a sign and the lights infront of the intersection where you are allowed to run the red light. Apart from that it would be rather simple to take it into the manual/rules.
€: Maybe I failed to make this clear enough... I'm aware you are allowed to turn on red on some occasions, but i've never seen any example where you actually "pass" the red light(infront of the intersection) legally, when theres no additional sign that allows you to do so. I realized that there are more people who respect the light. I don't see a necessity for this idea at the moment.
