Any good malware removing programs?

It's possibly just something in your browser, so a fresh install of that should fix it. Make system restore a very last resort.

That would work if the malware didn't infest the registry editor. I uninstalled Chrome and hoped for the best, but it then started to open these tabs in Internet Explorer lol.

The program I mentioned in my reply above fixed the registry editor values.

Thanks. That is 100% the reason Toni and I got the malware. The picture of the little icon in the History tab in Chrome looks exactly like the one I had yesterday. Maybe it was just a coincidence that I got the malware at the same time I was on those pages clicking some ads... Nice to know where it came from, though Spotify already eliminated the problem.

Thanks for this thread. It's rare that malwarebytes doesn't get rid of something, but adwcleaner did the job. Probably got infected from Spotify too.
