Non-linear g29 spring
Hello, I would like to find a non linear spring, to give a better feel to the pedal. I know some places like GTEYE and NIXM, but these are around $30/40, possibly more after shipping. I was wondering if you could get them somewhere else for much cheaper, somewhere from B&Q or somewhere like that. Attached is picture of linear vs non linear. Maybe even stronger spring would do? Thanks

Hi. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GTEYE-Brake-Pe...Swv0tVYC-v
That costs 18.50 gbp (22.95 USD) with free shipping if thats the price range you are looking for. |

RE: Non-linear g29 spring
Bit less on actual GTEYE website, still seems a bit much for a spring at £18, thanks tho

25x2mm is apparently the size you want. Edit: Might be worth putting a shorter length spring, then at the bottom put a couple of soft rubber spacers with a thin metal spacer on top to give it a more progressive feel? |

RE: Non-linear g29 spring
Putting a stiffer spring in pedals would give a firmer pedal feel. Could also put a small spring inside a big spring? As would feel harder towards bottom, not linear. Or some of those ruber inserts Sam posted

RE: Non-linear g29 spring
The smaller spring wouldn't compress properly I don't think

RE: Non-linear g29 spring
So I made some measurements. So its free length is 6.1cm, diameter is 2.2cm, the max the diameter could be is 2.5cm with the material width being 0.2cm. So I guess I'll have to look for spring around that size

RE: Non-linear g29 spring
Try find one that has progressively tighter coils at one end, will help with the feel a lot

RE: Non-linear g29 spring
If it isn't a progressive spring it won't be non-linear, it'll just be more (or less) stiff while maintaining linearity.
