What should determine your car insurance?

I live in Plymouth. In between Efford and Lipson, two of the roughest areas. On our road alone, we've had 3 police callouts involving damage to cars by human vermin.

Disneyland's pretty rough these days.

And while it's true that not all crashes involve more than one car, most do.

Doing your research is probably a big factor to getting a low quote. When I'd just passed my test at 17, I got a quote for £1900 for a 1.6 MK4 Golf.

In a sense I'm glad insurance prices are as high as they are, it stops people from having that crash in the first place, and makes them take driving a bit more seriously in there early years. It also helps to ease congestion on the roads a little since less people will pay for it, as if congestion wasn't bad enough as it is around here.

A half hour+ commute by foot is often the reason many look towards getting a car but really? We're young and still have our walking legs, it'd also help keep the nation a little more healthy if people were more willing to walk from point A to B. Or even carpooling, it seems like sharing a car is almost unheard of these days yet it could really help with congestion and costs.

However it does make life as a student pretty difficult if you need a car, but in most cases I think they don't really need a car and just want one because ooh it's shiney and fast etc -.-'

Totally disagree.

The most ppl who have a car could live with public transport or taxi...
Do You rly need that big tv/monitor? You rly need that new shoe? You rly need new pc every 2 year? ...
The car isn't a luxury.

Anyway the minimum distance for me is 50km per day (the avarage is 100+). On foot it isn't healthy.
