Gumball 2019 - Rally System and Insim
RALLY SYSTEM AND INSIM Rally System At this year’s Gumball, TC will be introducing the new and upcoming Rally-System. It is not fully developed yet and only covers the most important functions that are needed for Gumball. The system is meant to allow us to set up many sorts of different rallies throughout the whole year with only a little preparation. Each rally is divided in separate stages. The stages can be of different kind. The only two types at the moment are “distance” and “endless”. Distance: You have to drive a given distance in order to complete this stage. Endless: It’s an open-end stage, where all kms are counted until the time is over. (Next planned stage-type is “checkpoint”, one with a fixed route to follow.) Every stage has an opening and closing time. Which means you may drive the stage at any time you wish between those times. However, you should make sure you reach the finish before the time is up. In case of a distance-stage, you would be counted as DNF (did-not-finish). All stages are started via a special menu within the HOME-menu described below. Stages furthermore, come with a set of rules & conditions (of which not all are implemented yet), like:
The detail-page in insim will inform you which rules & conditions apply to that particular stage. In case of Gumball 2019 the following conditions will apply:
Scoring The scoring is entirely independent from the technical aspect of driving as described above. As rallies are different, the scoring can not simply be done on a stage-level. Each rally comes with a predefined scoring-system. Not always is the winner the fastest, some rallies may be about to meet a predefined average speed rather than just flat out speeding. In case of Gumball 2019, the scoring goes as follows:
Stages in Insim As stated previously, we have made some significant changes to the gumball format this year (more can be read here), we have also changed how we are tracking and implementing stages within the Insim itself. Here is an example how Insim will look like*, and what will it require for you to start a stage. First off, clicking on "HOME MENU" in Safe Zone will give you a new box on the bottom, called Rally After clicking on Rally, you will be taken to a new box, where you will be shown information about current stage, if you currently have one active, or you can select a new stage by clicking Show available stages. The list will show what stages you have finished, what stages you did-not-finish and what stage is currently available. Clicking on one of the finished stages will reveal more information about the stage itself. Clicking on an available stage, which you have not completed yet will give you information about the stage, distance and time left to complete the stage Starting a stage, and knowing you might not be able to complete it successfully, you can choose to retire from the stage by going into Rally menu, selecting the stage and click Retire from current stage which will also be visible to everyone on the server Selecting a stage with predetermined distance will show you how much of the stage you have completed above your rear view mirror, as well as what stage it is and what the distance of the stage is. After you have successfully driven the stage distance, the message displayed in public chat will announce you have completed a stage *Please note that any naming, like stage names, is unfinished and may not likely represent the final version.

RE: Gumball 2019 - Rally System and Insim
will gumballers have a "test" of how it works so we dont spend driving time trying to figure out how it works?
