Additional cost for crashing a rented car
So this idea will probably be shot down within hours, but here goes. I would like to see an additional cost for crashing a rented car. So on top of the normal cost per kilometer, if you were involved in a heavy crash there would be another cost added. This could make people drive more sensibly in cars they don't own, as well as adding some more realism.

RE: Additional cost for crashing a rented car
I'm sure we'll be proven wrong soon enough, but I think this is actually an OK idea.
e: I wouldn't like it to be as simple as 'heavy crash = more costs incurred', but perhaps something based on the existing condition system (RE: crashes) e: Having put more thought into this, I'm not sure if this would work. Players can rent cars for an indefinite period of time - it's not like they book a block of hours or anything. This begs the question: when would these charges actually take place? |

Yeah, its quite a basic idea as i didnt thank anyone else would like it. The charges would probably take place in real time, just like it currently does |

RE: Additional cost for crashing a rented car
I kind of like this idea. I mean, I only rent cars to rip around the track, but it's a nice idea.
Perhaps it could be implemented on a contact-based system like LFS Lazy / Mary tracks in real-time? You crash, you get charged x amount based on severity. Whether it's your fault or not, IRL you'd still get charged and insurance would take care of the rest. However. If it wasn't your fault... I feel like the "refund requests" category would get flooded either way. |

RE: Additional cost for crashing a rented car
I'm neither for or against this idea tbh...
Rental costs can rinse someone with not much money (like myself), let alone adding in another extra payment. If I'm at fault and it's heavy enough to be noticed, 9/10 times I will pay compensation - I think this is a good idea but I think in practise it will completely not work. |

RE: Additional cost for crashing a rented car
personally it a +1 from me if you think of in real life if you cause a crash you will need to pay for tow and others things.
