Hi all,

Unfortunately this is a depressing and demotivating topic for everyone, but it has to be said.

Over the past months, there seems to be more hostility and less tolerance and consideration for others and also for the rules. This could be due to individual circumstances or current global events.

Remember the very first rule we have listed!

Quote:1.1. Respect other players.
Do not harass or abuse other players. They may be new to the game and not know the track or customs - help them, do not insult them. Always be aware other drivers may act unpredictably.

Even if a player is not outright insulting or name-calling, the messages they send could still be against this rule.
It's as simple as "treat others how you want to be treated".

Sometimes it feels that some people push the boundaries.

• We would like users to drive more considerately to others. We would like everyone to stay within the rules in order to keep things fun for everyone.
• At the same time, if someone isn't behaving right, try to talk to them properly. Sometimes sending an unpleasant message feels good at the time, but ultimately it worsens the mood for everyone. Approaching someone aggressively will almost always result in an aggressive reaction, and this becomes a vicious circle. Of course it goes without saying that admins aren't perfect either. The pressure of trying to deal with numerous people at once sometimes means we can appear grumpy and unapproachable. Hopefully this isn't too often.

As [TC] members, we very much dislike referencing rule 9.1. as it can make us look bossy.

Quote:9.1. Do not argue with the [TC] members.

If you get a punishment, you very likely broke a server rule. Obey the [TC] members' orders. We are not here to ruin the fun, but to keep everything in order and safe. If a [TC] member tells you to stop doing something, do so.
If you feel unfairly treated, you can post on the forum with an unban request or ask for an explanation.

However, this rule is for good reason. Arguing in-game distracts us from dealing with other users and will rarely lead to anything helpful. The forum would be much more relaxed and the original situation won't feel as heated. Concerns may be raised on a forum thread or forum PM (for example to a management member). It is much easier to have a proper conversation when both sides are being civil.

Although it would be naive to believe we can flick a switch and everything will be great, we hope we can all take steps for the good of the community.

Doom and gloom aside, there are many community members who are consistently pleasant and are a pleasure to be around. We appreciate these people very much.

Hello,

After a year, we return with another cheery Christmas message.

This time, it is a reminder of the following rule:

Quote:1.10. Do not exploit any bugs within LFS or InSim, or act in any way which would lead to an unfair advantage or ill-gotten gain.
If you come across any bugs or potential exploits, contact an administrator as soon as possible. Don't try to cheat or abuse the system.

There has been an increase in users using certain methods (including external tools) to gain InSim money/stats without any active human input. This is a clear violation of rule 1.10.

In recent times, we have been issuing substantial InSim fines, in addition to the customary ban. We will continue to investigate and take action on such users. It is not worth trying to cheat. You will eventually be found out, and your money will be removed.

Thank you to the vast majority of players who are honest and have morals. You know who you are! To those, have a happy 2024!
