Problems about !report, which has recently been abused very often.
When the forum report I made a very short time ago resulted in a positive result, I had in mind to offer you such a suggestion and I would like to present it to you now.
For people who do not have experience on the server, I will leave a link to 2 reports that I have experienced so that they can understand the problem. I think this may help you understand the subject a little more. _______________________________________________________ Following and passing the police chase & unfair in-game !report: https://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthr...?tid=39100 [DS] P V L - Report, Not obeying sirens..: https://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthr...?tid=38315 _______________________________________________________ I believe that every TC individual should think about this issue and support this issue. Because you may experience this one day or you have already experienced it. I have seen a few people who have experienced this, and I would especially like to see them here. You know that there is a reporting system in the game and this system allows you to report the player in the easiest way without any effort. I believe that this system was used appropriately and reasonably in the early periods, but now, if we talk about this time, I am in favour of a change in this system. We are no longer in the old period, we are in a very different structure and we appeal to very different people. I would like to explain this to you very clearly, but I have to keep my weight here. I think you have understood me very clearly. This system brings secrecy within the system. It is very difficult for you to guess who reports when. You can only understand this if you have enough experience in the game or if you are involved in very little activity on the server. A few days after I shared my last report, I received an in-game report again for no reason, but this time I could not identify the person who did it. I think this system is currently being used in a highly misused way. The saddest part is that it is not only inexperienced people who use this system in a bad way. Experienced names in the game also do this. Unfortunately, I took it from the person who spent the most time on this server in hours. I am embarrassed while I am writing, but while he was doing this, he shamelessly reported me without thinking that I could report him back. (You can look at the incident report from the 2nd link) I think it is time to put a stop to this. The suggestions I can make about this issue are as follows: 1- Removing the privacy in the report system. If the person's privacy is removed, I believe that he will use this system more reasonably. If one person is unfairly reporting another person, by reporting this from the forum, it will result in the person who uses this system unfairly being penalised. 2- Complete removal of this system As far as I see, a new warning system has been introduced in the admin system. In this system, when people connect to the server, a panel appears in front of them confirming the offence and not repeating the same offence. This is a nice system. By removing the !report system, people can open a topic to the forum and life can continue in its normal flow without getting away with anyone's crime with a 100% rate. These were the suggestions I could make in my mind. As I mentioned at the beginning of the subject, I expect your participation in this issue. This is not a simple suggestion, on the contrary, this is a PROBLEM. and it is in the hands of all of us to solve this problem. Thanks to everyone in advance, I wish you a good day. |

I understand getting falsely reported is annoying but gladly the system is designed to take occasional false reports in to account.

There's already fights about people reporting because some people probably have their TCWorld profile open on second screen to see if their report count goes up.. It's also great way for people to get "punished" for minor rule breaking which aren't really worth forum report for. As admin i really like the system and would hate for it to be removed, even though there's sometimes false reporting taking place which we need to correct. My solution to this problem is to hide the report count on players TCWorld page (2025-01-06 12:08)Speed Demon Wrote: Thanks to everyone in advance, I wish you a good day. Have a good day also ! |

Just worth pointing something out:
Quote:As far as I see, a new warning system has been introduced in the admin system. In this system, when people connect to the server, a panel appears in front of them confirming the offence and not repeating the same offence. This is a nice system. This is what we often refer to as an on-screen or "confirmable" warning. The system has been used for maybe 12 or 13 years, although there have been improvements in recent times (eg more space for text, clickable rules URL). |

Yes, it's sad for me to look at my profile on the website before I go to bed and see that the number of reports is increasing, most of the time I get reports even when I drive properly. And it's not good to see these numbers increasing (I'm happy that there are fewer)

And it's not good to see these numbers increasing (I'm happy that there are fewer) Like Petsu pointed out, the number of in-game reports helps us admins to judge how a player behaves, helping us make better decisions when dealing with rule-breakers. It also lets the community step in and take some control by using the "Red Card" system to ban obvious trolls and rule-breakers. It's not a perfect system by any means, but it still provides a much greater share of benefits rather than burdens. That being said, I understand seeing that number go up on your profile can be frustrating, especially if you know you haven't broken any rules and have been well behaved. Honestly, the best advice I can give is not to put too much weight on what that number says. It’s not always accurate, but what really matters is the way the system helps admins and the community behind the scenes. |

RE: Problems about !report, which has recently been abused very often.
Guess what, I get sometimes a !report as well and have no idea from where and why it comes in.
But it never created a real problem for me so far. And thats why I decided to just accept it. Have fun and enjoy, yours P V L. |

I also encountered this situation. I was the right side. -There is clearly a communication problem with players who are new to the server. -I also agree with PETSU. This should be hidden. -I also think SpeedDemon is right. |

I want to give everyone a collective answer. I think nobody wants to make a real contribution to this proposal (except Petsu, thanks Petsu!). Here's the point you didn't understand when I brought this up; I know that numbers are unimportant, I am aware of that and I can ignore it if I want to. Telling me to ignore it does not contribute to this issue. You are not helping by saying that. Most people already know that I am not a problematic person on this server. I made this post for everyone here, but this issue was looked at one-sidedly. What I want to know is this; * If the numbers are insignificant, why do these !report records stand for 6 months? * Is there any guarantee that you will not present a !report that was recorded 5.5 months ago tomorrow? After an authorised person gives the answers to these 2 questions, I will shelve the subject and maybe one day someone else will explain the subject again from their perspective. |

RE: Problems about !report, which has recently been abused very often.
I definitely agree with SpeedDemon's views on this subject. I also received fake reports from time to time. Moreover, because I reported the guilty player, I received fake reports just because I reported him. The solution to this should not be to ignore the numbers. I understand that these records are taken into account should the player apply for a admin role in the future. The same may be true for some team applications. And most importantly, I have occasionally seen users who receive fake reports within the server and receive unnecessary yellow card warnings.
I also disagree with the solution of removing the place that shows players' report numbers on the TCWorlds page. In my opinion, the solution to this is to impose harsher penalties for users who abuse the !report command, rather than taking away their rights. (There may be congestion on the forum site after reporting rights are taken away.) I also experienced a similar situation.: https://forum.city-driving.co.uk/showthr...?tid=38646 |
