Plain simple and straightforward this map blows. All you do is drive in circles, no missions, turns etc. I fell asleep driving the other night it was so boring lol. Aston, South City, BW and Kyoto are the most fun.

A lot of people agree when you mention it in server, so just a friendly thought.

We do have two servers, you don't need to go on westhill just because people are there.

Press Shift + F4 to disable HUD, drive around, do turns into parking lots, do a donut maybe, turn around, drive the other way around. There's plenty of stuff to do. Start doing fast laps and shave time off the laps.

Or you could just go to the other server.

Chuck & the [TC] Management always go through every track, because that's the fairest system. People like Westhill just like others like Montana, it's a cycle which should satisfy everyone's needs. You just have to like it or lump it, or as said by others, go to the other server.

My foremost issue with Westhill is that it causes carnage when people don't know how to drive...

On the other hand I never join Sidney, but I know others like it. I just never join that server

I thought it was supposed to be a cruise server, you follow limits and laws, people drive like idiots and a heavy crash is averaged every few minutes because people wrong side drift and pass in bad areas. I just feel it doesn't fit the mold. I also forgot Fern Bay, has lots of turns and can be fun depending on crowd.

Just because you don't like a track, that doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way. If we changed the track every time one person asked us to, we'd never have a track on for more than 5 minutes.

FYI, crashes happen on every track, not just Westhill.

A 50% unapproval of online members at a time isn't just me.

And as stated above the frequency of the wrecks is ridiculous. Most of the time it is users driving fast because that's all they can do. Average speeds for bonuses seem to have creeped up with this map as well.

Just because one member voices an opinion doesn't mean others don't agree. Many people don't voice want they think because of fear of retaliation. It just isn't a fit for the server what's next autocross dragstrip cruise?

You don't have to drive flat out just because there is a lack of junctions. People drive fast and slow on any track.

No, for many years we have hosted our servers on closed circuits - for a long time, that's all LFS had. Besides, pit stops, pit-lanes, racing advertising, tyre stacks and apex's don't fit with cruise servers but that's what we have.

If you want a server with junctions, we do have Blackwood on the other server.

If you even read the posts in this thread you will see people drive an support flat out.

And I was saying that as derogatory. Meaning next up no turns straight line cruise track. That's just what it seems like its headed for. I mean for years LFS begged for open layouts, the users get it and now it's not in full use. Just dissapointing. I'll run on black wood I just auto join server one when I boot LFS.

That isn't 50% of our total users, that isn't even 50% of the users on this forum.

We run this track for about 2 weeks on a cycle of 2 online servers where we run every track possible, if that isn't putting the circuits to full use, I don't know what is.

That's the users in the 10 minute window before I got bored if I were to go ask again I would get more feedback. I just can't put myself through that torture. Plus I have to make money and focus on college so a little video game poll isn't worth my time. I have asked twice and the people who dislike the track actually outnumber the response of people who do like it including the forums. Late night Americans really hate it.

Sorry, but you can't get a true representation of the majority of users from asking ~30 in a 10 minute window. There is in excess of 1000 individual users (most probably a lot more now) who have entered our servers over the last 6 years (of course not all of them are regular players).

I don't think a poll would even be worth it - we wouldn't be changing anything around. Just bear with it for 2 weeks, it isn't a long time.

And here's a user outside of that 30 minute window who is saying don't ditch Westhill, because I enjoy it (at least when a decent layout is on it). And many other people do too.

IMO, it's the driver behind the wheel that causes the crashes, not the track itself.

Also the "fun factor" or whatever we should call it, is as fun as you make it. Be creative and make it fun and it will be fun, simple as that.

Yeah, I've actually been working on this single lane, 1 car at a time (possible 2 if they're UF1's) layout on oval where you just drive around in circles (you can't even get back into the pitlane)...

But you know, at least it's got some corners



Really though? Yeah, people have different opinions on tracks. If people don't like a server, then they're more than welcome to go on the other one we have up 24/7 or even go elsewhere. We're never going to get everyone happy at once with both of the layouts we have on. In the same way, we try to provide a variety. The layouts are different in terms of feel, flow, driving style. Some people prefer different things (amazingly) and at the end of the day, Josh said it. If we ditched every track just cause a few people didn't like it, we'd change tracks every time we tried to put a new one on, cause there is always going to be someone on the server when we change the track saying "Awwh, I don't like <TRACK>, can we go back to <TRACK2>?"

As I said, we try to provide a variety and keep everyone happy. There are some people who only enjoy our Westhill track, and 90% of the time, we have 2 open layouts on, with all the junctions you can shake a stick at. Westhill and Blackwood on at the same time is probably the least open combo it is, but hey, as it's been said. It's only for 2 weeks, and in 2 weeks time, we'll probably have a similar complaint about our next pairing.

is the exact opposite of a friendly thought. It is infact just downright rude to be perfectly honest. People have spent a lot of time developing the layout, we've even had community input on parts of the layout, time has been taken on the InSim, and things have been changed about it when a well constructed, thought out, polite idea has been suggested, as opposed to just "This map blows."

The layout is not everything but it plays a major part in it.. And I hate to say it but I'm at the stage where no matter which tc map is on, I don't seem to enjoy the layout, with the exception of Montana.. Not to say that I am the majority but that's just how I personally feel and I have a right to my opinion no?

And I hope you keep taking community input, I am one voice, true, but that is why I ask other people what they think of my designs before suggesting them..

What confuses me a little with Westhill, is that you held the layout competition, and everyone decided on a layout they liked, then it gets changed a month later without anyone's opinions questioned?

I know [TC] spends lots of time on there layouts but so do I, why do you think i'm so inactive on the servers? I'm working on the perfect layouts all the time, this one took me nearly a week to finish to a stage where I was happy with it.
