Checking file system on C:?
So i wanted to restart my computer, and when i did some stuff came up:
something like "it is recommended that you dont skip this process etc etc..." then there was a 10 second countdown which allowed me to skip the disk check thing. Problem was, no matter how much buttons i pressed, it didn't allow me to skip the process. Then it went through some stuff like "checking file system on c: blah blah ... verifying files stage (1 of 3) 20%" etc. after stage 2 though, there was a black screen and nothing was happening. what is happening? what do i do? (note: as i was typing this, my wheel calibrated and the startup sound of windows played, but still black screen) hope you understand. |

RE: Checking file system on C:?
Oh, the disk check? It said it was checking it for consistency, right?

RE: Checking file system on C:?
Then it's nothing to worry about. I had to do a check with my laptop the other day.

RE: Checking file system on C:?
But the thing is, it's been sitting there with a black screen for an hour or so.

RE: Checking file system on C:?
Yes i had, but found nothing helpful.
Basically, i had to reboot my computer to install new antivirus, but then the consistency thing appeared. I've had this before and I've let it run normally. But this time it didn't let me skip. After stage 2 or so of checking the files the screens just turned blank. |

RE: Checking file system on C:?
OK.....maybe there is something wrong with either the hard drive or the motherboard if it can't complete the disk check process.
