To lift of at a hill you just press clutch and brake, look for the pressure point, give the throttle a kick to disable the hill start assist and let off the brake. And you're rolling Biggrin

I did my driving test in one of those Golf VI disels. Wasn't used to a disel so I treated it like a petrol engine and that didn't go that well hehe. Stalled 2 times during the test Tongue

You must confuse diesel with petrol lol, diesels have usually way more sensitive clutch than petrol cars.

Not really, I can stall my dad's petrol engine all time, while I couldn't stall the 4x4 diesel we ever had, it just rolled away easy.

I have had exact opposite o.O On something too new with all hill start helpers etc might be different.

And trucks. If you stall a truck you're a complete moron and don't deserve any driving licences.

Went into a intersection on 2nd gear. Slowed down enough so I could look both ways without stoping. No problemo with all the petrol cars I have driven but the disel just died in that situation. Sad

I think that's probably more to do with different gear ratios.
