My personal achievement
Hello boys!
Over the past 1.5 years i've been going through a body transformation. I just thought i'd share this experience with you guys, because you've been, and still are a great part of my life So, it all began in September when i climbed that scale and i was devastated by the number it had shown on the display. A whopping 128.3 kgs (which is equvalent to 282.8 pounds). At that exact moment i realised i cannot punish myself, and my body any longer. It was time for a change. I won't lie, it wasn't easy letting go all that "tasty, fattering food" (loads of sandwiches, toasts, those kind of foods that aren't too healthy), setting myself in a great mystic world of fitnessing & healthy diet. It was hard, especially the first week or two, where the will starts to form and i will admit i had some 2nd thoughts about it. Non the less, after i dealt with the starting hiccup, i gained more and more will to train hard, promissing myself not to "drop out" again and return to the old diet. After 2 weeks it was time to step on the scale again. I was scared what it would show me, and all that fear came true. It showed 130.2 kgs (287.0 pounds). I was devastated, not knowing what i had done wrong. After consulting with some friends at the gym they convinced me it always starts that way, first you gain some weight (due to muscle growth), then it all goes down. And it really was that way. Next 2 weeks the scale had shown me 124.6 kgs (274.7 pounds). I was super happy, and that gave me the motivation to continue working hard to get to my goal which was back then 100 kgs (220.4 pounds). After i had reached it, i believe it was 6-7 months of hard training and dedication the summer vacation came. During that time i decided to take a pause off of everything and i returned to my old self, day by day i had gained weight slowly, after 3 months i gained 9 kgs (19.8 pounds). After summer vacation had ended i decided to get my lazy ass back to gym. From November till now i had lost all the weight i gained during the summer time, and today was the first day the scale had shown me less than 100 kgs in 8-10 years. It showed me 99.1 kgs (218.4 pounds). My goal is set to 90 kgs (198.4 pounds), and i will not quit until i reach it So that was my lifechanging experience, my personal achievement. Hence you guys are a part of my life i thought i'd share it with you And my final thought: Everyone can do something to make a change in his life, i made mine and i'm super proud of it. |

Gratz on your progress, always good to hear someone who's making a success.
I too have been taking steps to lose weight and build some muscle. I've gone from being able to lift not an awful lot more than 20x with the wimpy purple 3kg Dumbells in one go comfortably, to being able to lift 80+ of the 5kg dumbells comfortably. To you these weights might not sound like much, and I might sound totally weak, and you're right! I've muscular dystrophy, so for me it's a huge achievement, I can actually see some muscle on my arm now which is like woooah ;P Admittedly, killing a food addiction is hard, and my rate of weight loss is very very slow despite maintaining exercises such as sit ups and aerobics such as starjumps and going up and down and up and down the stairs for 20 minutes at a time I found that increasing my water intake often reduced my hunger and this has helped me slowly reduce weight. Staying away from the fizzy drinks helped too Keep up the good work |

If you're trying to lose weight, cut all alcohol, fizzy drinks, chocolate, crisps, snacks for a while.
I've lapsed a little recently with junk food and snacks, but I started going to the gym last year in July, put on about 4kg but manage to lose about 6% body fat. Speaking from experience I know it's really really hard maintaining any sort of strict diet or excercise regime, no matter what your goal, a huge congratulations to you. It's hard work and really really frustrating at times but keeping pushing yourself, every kilo you lose will feel so so so worth it if you really mean it Congrats and keep it up. |

Wow Ice, thats amazing Good job man! Nice to read such things
I went from 107kg (235.4pounds) to 90kg (198 pounds), and i was very surprised how i had to loose weight. They simply said to me "You don't eat enough" But then came the rest, "But you also eat wrong." If you know how and what to eat, things get alot better. I drink (enough) alcohol every weekend, eat (enough) fast food every week, and i keep loosing weight. But, i also run. I never thought i'd go running but then you see how exercise plays a big role when it comes to loosing weight. |

Stuff like running, rowing machine, cycling, cardio in general plays a huge role provided you back it up with a healthy diet cause it gets your metabolism going and keeps it going for much much longer.
Alcohol is best to cut out I've noticed with my friends, it can give a lot of fat, but it also makes it harder for your body to shift it as well because of the way it is. |

Over the past 15 months I gained about 45lbs from a chest injury that dosabled me from doing much physical activity. At the start of 2013 I started working out and eating better and currently am down 20lbs from 197lbs to 177.5lbs my goal is to get back to 155lbs! It's amazing how easy it is to lose muscle, but how hard it is to build!

Well done Ice. My story is pretty much the same. I've always liked food that isn't probably too good for the health. At some point i realized (i was 120kg-s by then) that if i keep doing so, then it wouldn't end up good for me. I was thinking what to do for a long period, until my friend made a suggestion that we could go running. We started slowly, first week was pretty much walking the seven kilometer trip. They were pretty much right about the first part, that is always hard.
Tried to run few times, but i was breathless immediately. I promised myself that i won't give up on me, because at that point it was the only thing that kept me going through this hard time. Things started to go up the hill week after the first. I didn't felt so tired anymore and i could actually run for longer distance. So we went out with my friend pretty much every evening. This lasted about a month or two. Then one day when i called him and asked to meet me, all he said was "enough of that, i got better things to do". This was actually pretty bad setback for me, if i remember correctly i almost gave up doing that also. But then i remembered what i said to myself. "if you don't do it now, you never will". I guess that was the only cause, that kept me going again. Time flew past, weeks became months. And finally it felt so good, just to run and run and run. Even more, i bought trek road bike and started cycling also, after running. So it was 7 kilometers on foot and 30-70 kilometers with road bike, depending on the mood. It took me about 6-7 months, to completely change the way i look, all the people i didn't meet for a long time didn't recognize me anymore. It was the same with all my ID cards and other documents that had my picture on it. I have been accused on frauds god knows how many times, but i still enjoy talking my story and some of them actually do believe it. When i think back to that time, i still think that i pushed myself too far, because eating extra healthy food and doing this crazy workout at same time. I guess i got too addicted to it, that wasn't even paying attention to what and how much do it eat. It had to stop, when i was nearly around 68kg-s. It felt so good to be lightweight again, but after i passed out first time, i realized that i have pushed it bit too far. Then it started to happen 2-3 times per day. Some doctors said that it's pretty much miracle that i survived this with so little damage. So this is it, from 120kg to 70 in pretty short time. Like you said, anything is possible if you really put your heart and mind to it. Right now i'm living in a big city, where no one knows how i used to look, but sometimes when i go to my hometown and see some old friends, when they walk right pass me and don't recognize me anymore, it's still a blast to see the look on their eyes. |

Well done ice, encouraging and motivational. I under went the same body transformation as you although I was a lot heavier. To be exact, I started off the challenge at my peck weight which was 330 pounds. Yup, the 300 VIP Club is what we fatties here like to call it lol. After 6 months of nothing but sweat and tears I got the job done. I managed to slim down to 190ib. The process did include sacrificing a bit of my life, but the benefits unquestionably out-weight the sacrifice. So yah, thats the majority of what I've been doing in my time off. You can do this ice, the summer of 2013 is YOURS!
