As i have tried to show you up there, it's not relevant wether or not lag moves his car further left and/or your car further left. Even in the best case scenario for your side, you would have still hit his car.

In the image up there he was further to the right and after the lag you were further to the left. This is your best case scenario and it clearly shows you would have still hit him. http://i.imgur.com/HOn2lps.jpg

The Lx6 is fairly light and pushing it out of the way is easy. Just like a lorry barely feels anything when it sideswipes a hatchback.

The replay was full of petty things you did to each other, but until you started ramming him, it was pretty balanced and not worth any action. He said something, you said something, he annoyed you with his driving, you annoyed him with your driving, etc, etc.
