Well here is charlie, who is now my spider as Tom's girlfriend is petrified of them. She is 8yrs old and in premolt. I myself and not a keen lover of spiders, however i have had her for nearly 2 weeks and overcome my fear, get her out and let her crawl over me.

Is a spider considered as a pet ? o.O

Yes. but it cant have the poison thingys IIRC

Yeh, she very friendly, comes out and crawls over the keyboard lol..Its took me a week to overcome my fear of them to now actually enjoy having her out (I have got her a new inclosure today, and she loves it, new pic added)

Collar didn't go well, she's lost a lot of weight, and is regaining it slowly.

Hope she gets better soon Zip =)

oh believe me so was i howlin, i would run a mile, but i has no choice in the matter, i had to spray her coca fibre (special soil for tarantulas), put clean water in the milk cap, and once a day just touch her legs to ensure she moves, after doing that for nearly a week, i went for the dive and got her out and actually it wasn't to bad, she very very placid and docile and moves one leg at a time walking lol. she loves my monitor as it lets of a bit of heat. will get a pic of her when she next out, but due to rehousing today i have to leave her for a week and not touch her as she needs to explore and get used to it.

Omg i can't even look at a spider, i absolutely hate the legs and the way they move! =[

Tarantulas don't look too scary, they're all furry. It's the big black spiders which are all stick-like that make me feel funny.
