You do have connected the microphone jack in the microphone-jack, and not in one of the other jackets?

Oh, and after you changed the default-input source, you might have to change the settings in TS and Skype to. (If both of the programs don't change to the default-recording thing)

I have put the mic in right jack and I did change the default to my headphones, but nothing happened when I tried to talk..
