RE: Overpowered COPs
"No brain" cops would be resolved by making Basic Training compulsory before attaining a Cop licence.
"Excessive roadblocking" can be resolved by actively utilising your map and looking ahead. Good suspects are seperated from average suspects by the way they use the map to their advantage and take unexpected course changes to twart the cops. If you manage to take a route into a roadblock of 4 cops you're just blind. Unless its Sydney, then blame Scawen for making it a closed map... "Passing chases get ban" is resolved by simply maintaining a safe distance to the chase ahead, taking a defensive position to the cop behind and peeling off at the earliest opportunity. "Too many cops overpowering me" can be resolved by either becoming faster, taking a faster car to begin with, or being more cunning and foxy with your route choices - which by the way cops hate with a passion. Of course you have to remember that there isn't an infinite amount of cops; x number of cops is dependant on the number of on-duty at the time of chase. Although newer cops do need to realise that a full backup isn't always needed 3 seconds into the chase. In the end, to summarise, You are the civilian. You dictate your speed, driving and eventually your proneness to chases, whether it being intentional or unintentional. Besides newbies who get chased purely because they do not yet understand the server, users with enough cruise time should readily accept that they should stick to road rules or run the risk of being chased. And once you know this, you shouldn't be surprised to be mauled by a field of cops.. because you had the choice not to break the law, in the first place If you initiate a chase too, you automatically accept the risk, sweat, and potential chaos that ((may)) ensue. If not, you look silly complaining about a chase you asked for. Again, that being said, I do feel the quality and reliability of cops needs to be improved. There are far too many cops lacking the basic knowledge and skills to keep a chase "green" and safe for not just the suspect, but the other cops and civilians on track. Chaos in chase should not be a norm, and this brings the entire subject back to the first point I made. |
