I'm updating my main pc finally. I have modified/custom DDS files. How do I preserve them during the update? Should I just run a clean install then copy them over? I had some VOB/Wheel mods at one point so my folders are just a wreck lol.

It shouldn't overwrite them unless they're textures which have been updated since you last updated LFS. If in doubt, back up and do a fresh install.
