Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
Seeing as there has been debate recently on the server about Cops vs Bikes and the level of force which is appropriate to use, it would be good to have a constructive documented comment on the forum.
Please share your views on the situation... My personal views, light tactical contact should be allowed if the chase warrants it. Why? Bikes advantage in a chase is they can floor the throttle and be long gone into the distance within seconds. They can navigate tight situations in traffic etc, where as the COP is at a disadvantage and cannot do such moves. The flip side is, light contact is most likely to lead to a bike becoming unstable and ultimately falling over. However, I feel this comes 'part and parcel' of deciding to use a bike to evade capture. |

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
I haven't played as a COP properly for a few years and I've only just started playing again so I don't have really have a massive understanding of bikes/bikes in chases except what I've seen of them in game.
I'm guessing the 5 second bust still applies to bikes and once a bike is down then it is going to be busted? I can see you don't need a lot of force to unsettle and take down a bike. I don't see an issue with force being used on bikes as long as it is safe and tactical (same as any chase). If you fail to stop then you should expect force to be used to stop you.. that's the sole goal of a cop in a chase, to stop someone who is running. If you chose a vehicle that is unstable then you are either gonna get knocked over or fall over. Josh. |

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
The British police now are allowed to ram & pit bikers and cause them to fall off the road, which is the only option that makes sense, As there are no useful alternatives, we should continue doing what we used to do as a cop

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
responding 2 ash from a noob pov who likes to bike and cop from time to time
*they can floor the throttle and be long gone* yes they can in straights only after cornering at 50% of the speed that a car usually turns a corner xD *they can navigate tight situations in traffic* with good luck, they do, unless 1 car decides to move a little to another position and all of a sudden you're at the opposite side of the road with 2 dead suspensions and a 300€ fine xD look, I get it, it's a casual driving server with cop v robber features but man I really don't want to constantly follow the road laws because some RMT cop farmer is hiding behind a sign waiting for me to pass and steal a 280€ fine if I don't try to run away. if you ever tried to drive a bike on its limits you know that you're constantly on the verge of just flipping or falling down and that 10-second timer of waiting to get up isn't really a privilege either xD I would for the least suggest trying to see how an instant getup feature would work when you fall down at a speed of under 60kph, over that you'd have to normally wait 10 seconds. That would also allow the bike to at least have another chance to evade arrest since a cop car just needs to stay in front of it as it can't reverse. |

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
Light contact is fine imo - there is obviously a rather large difference between a small tactical tap as opposed to just flat out ramming them.
When you select a certain vehicle, not just bikes but also different cars for example, they each have their advantages and disadvantages. In this case, you are very fast and agile but quite vulnerable to contact. To me that is just the risk you take if you choose to have chases on a bike. |

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
My opinion following: (sorry for my bad english)
1) Whats the point of running from police on bike if you will fall from slightest tap, its just impossible to run away. 2)I agree bike are fast on straigts but when it comes to turns its whole different story, cars can take corners in much faster pace. 3)My expereince chasing bikes is that i can easly keep up with them and me personaly i dont use any force in bike chases to stop them most of the time they will fall them self's witch will result in bust. 4)My soulution is that cops cant use PIT maneuver to stop bikes but try to go infront of them and block the path, ik it sound and is more difficult then ramming, but then whats the point of using bikes if u will get pitted as soon as the chase begins. |

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
I've never seen COPs use any less force on a UF1, XFG, UFR, XFR or RAC.
As already mentioned by a few above, you accept the risk of being more vulnerable the moment you choose to ride a bike. For gameplay purposes, decrease the get up time slightly, and to counteract that, decrease the amount of time it takes before backup can be called. |

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
Most police forces in the world wont contact a motorcycle in a chase, they just follow until rider getsrekt himself. Usually they die as a result. No contact on bike would be nice IMO, because then it would be up to the rider to evade successfully without falling.

RE: Cops vs Bikes - Use of force
It's simple, get good or don't run from police with a bike. I can outrun FZ5 on some tracks, anything faster than that is really difficult to run away from unless cop is incompetent or he gets into an accident.
Blocking path is enough to stop a biker because turning around is really tricky and it takes some practice to do it in a small space if there is any. |
