I generally find the opposite in games - a real SMG will often have an effective range of 200m (max range can be nearly 2000m).
From what I can make out from the BLOPS2 stats sheets, SMGs average somewhere around 90m.

Well the maps are sized too small really. I mean I am basing the SMG range off of the Assault Rifle range. I've shot m4s and m16s at 300 yards and had a solid grouping, but shot an mp5 at 150 and had a wider one(unergonomic design IMHO) but call of duty maps are so small they have to clip AR range to make it fair so why not clip SMG range a well.

And the newest hack seems to be a mod that makes the fully automatic pistol have no recoil and dead on accuracy like the five seven!

I agree, I think the maps are too small too. They need to bring back big maps like Bloc and Overgrown where you can actually snipe.

Oh and bring back maps where you can ACTUALLY use ghillie suits too.

Oh wait, im asking for too much... Ill just go back to my COD4 Tongue

Ya agreed! Or even maps like drone, where you can snipe, you are exposed by multiple angles! I need to track down a copy of CoD4 for PS3

I don't snipe I kill snipers lol. I can much more easily sneak up on a sniper now! I tend to do this too my friends in hardcore just to tick them off lol.
