It's locked to 60 fps in windowed mode, because aero has vsync forced. The old dx8 version wasn't locked probably because aero doesn't support dx8 fully. Some people have reported the dx8 version locking at 60 as well, but I think that was caused by drivers.
As for priorities, dx9 means LFS can properly support the occulus rift, using the official shaders. The rift support has already brought new players to lfs, and general consensus so far seems that LFS already has the best rift/3d support of any driving game. The whole rift thing seems to have got Scawen inspired to work on lfs again, and he has said that he'll get back to the physics once the rift support is sorted and he's ironed out the dx9 bugs. |
