Cops losing contact

Hi,

was there also something changed regarding cops losing contact, not only the new join mode?

I noticed it in a very long chase on sydney today that COP Angel could actually be wherever he wanted and it was almost impossible to lose contact.
While I was on the middle of the highway 1, he was in the middle of High street - several times I noticed that.
Also it seems like cops don't lose contact when suspect is on the freeway and cop on the high street.

I was kinda not sure what I should do to get rid of him... lol
