RE: CityLiga 22 - Discussion
(2016-04-26 02:02)Shikari Wrote: As Renegade said, I just need to be aggressive in future and send one up the inside underbraking and when this happens again I will for sure be doing this.I think that is bad advise. Better is to look at the replay and stats and see why others were faster or how they passed you. None of them did pass during braking, they passed on corner exit and straights. And often they wait a bit to get into best position. -lap 6, Mickiewicz passes on s/f straight with slipstream. -lap 8 is first time when you are close enough to car in front to attempt pass, but it is too curvy section. Had you tried to just stay close enough, until the uphill-straight towards hairpin then it might have been more sucessfull. -Lap 10 in hairpins you are somewhat close to car in front, but also hard to make a pass there. Compare to the car from behind (Szarka): He passes easily with exit speed. Two laps later he passes Spencer, same methode and same spot. -Lap 13 Botsi passes you, on s/f straight with slipstream. -Lap 16 Ascon passes you, with slipstream. ..see a pattern? lap 17 you manage to pass troy, but basically only by (accidently, I guess) bumping into his rear which pushed him from line. Even if you had tried to go on inside line, that would have been questionable outcome. And well then you slide/crashed at s/f chicane. Also check in replay if the car in front (Spencer) was really holding you up. You follow him for many laps, yes, but pace is similiar and it never seemed like you had to ease of throttle or so. With this track/car, if one is seriously faster than car in front, then it would have been possible to get close enough for drafting past. Another thing is to pick your battles. Sometimes faster drivers have bad luck at start, but one can be sure they will catch up from behind. For example in this race: Mickiewicz and Botsi. There is not much use to try to race faster cars for position because realistically you will lose anyway, and lose time too. Sure, the s/f-straight was long enough that when Botsi passed you, you could use draft to stay ahead for one more turn. However only that: one more turn. Not worth it. Instead follow such drivers and it can give the 0.5-1 seconds that you need to get close to somehow who you can pass for position. Nismo: You basically threw it away by not knowing how stop&go penality works. (Unlike normal pitstop it is possible to drive off too early and then the stop&go stays. Also only one stop per 'pit visit' is possible.) Also why so aggressive into the hairpins? Guaranteed spot for startcrash. With the S&G there was basically nothing to gain anyway because any gained positions would be lost. Ok sorry for the long post, I just wonder sometimes how people who have the pace for better results throw it away with so silly things |
